I actually love the nose he painted-- obviously not realistic, but it looked like it could have been made by a famous impressionist artists. Amazing job, Cuyler!!

oil painters never fail to impress me. I'm a watercolorist and I often hear that watercolor is the hardest medium to work with, but good god...oil and acrylic are impossible for me.

I absolutely suck at painting. I was apparently called the artsiest person in my class, though. Your videos help me A LOT.

I love how Cuyler is something like an attainable goal for some, more than a novice for others and how you both work together

I'm so impressed with your husbands nose.
My first nose-painting wasn't near as good his nose!

Hey Robin, can you maybe do a video on lips? I'm not the best at them. I would appreciate it. 😁

Great video! Short note though: Dry brushing generally refers to the application of paint using a dry brush with some small amount paint still on it rather than blending with a clean brush. This creates scratchy marks and can be used in scumbling, making a broken layer of paint over and existing one.

I am so happy that I stumbled across this tutorial! I love the fast pace and straight forward instructions without a whole bunch of crap that is good to know and I SHOULD know…but don’t HAVE to know to paint the thing that I want to paint! I’ve been skimming videos for about an hour now and this is the first one I’ve actually watched all the way to the end. Thank you for being what I need!

Pro tip: use an upside down number 7 for the nose and label the painting as “contemporary.” It’s a real time saver.

Brush grip is epic. Never seen an artist holding brush like this.

I miss your chickens. 💚 I have been painting for nearly 20 years now, but always used turpentine and oils to thin my paint, so learned something new today. Thanks Robin 😘

I totally understand the concept now. I’ve practiced painting 3 noses from Pinterest today. They look great and I made sure to take my time and add my darks up to my highlights. ✨
