I've mever been to the Netherlands but over the years I've met a few Dutch people on my travels, and have always found them to be charming, lovely people.

Very informative. I'm Dutch born and live in Auatralia since 1955, I was seven at the time. I knew the Dutch had a great history but I was suprised by all that they have done and acheived. My bigest regret is that the Dutch only saw the west coast of Australia, thinking it to barren. They should have kept on going to the east coast, if they had we would all be speaking Dutch and eating herring.

You could've added at least 10 more astonishing facts. such as the invention of the CD, DVD, and Blueray, Bluetooth being a Dutch invention, Mt Scenery on the Carribean island of Saba being the highest location in the whole kingdom and the shortest airport runway in the world, Flevoland being taken back from the sea, etc.

Very interesting. My respect for Holland and its people comes from knowing a Dutch doctor and his family from late seventies until the mid eighties. Both of us worked in a very busy maternity hospital in Mombasa, Kenya. Simple, hard working and a friendly colleague, I remember him and his country with good memories.

High Tech. ASML in Veldhoven is the only factory in the world that makes highly advanced machines that can then produce high-tech chips. The world is more or less dependent on these machines. Companies like Intel, Samsung etc depend on these machines.

I’m surprised there wasn’t any mention of Amsterdam being the diamond cutting capital of the world. Not to be confused with Antwerp being the diamond trading capital of the world.

Interesting and nicely done. I am Dutch but moved 6 years ago to live in Austria because of the fresh air and beautiful mountains. After seeing one of the first scenes of this video, I jokenly told my wife and kids, that we will move to the Netherlands as I saw some beautiful mountains, surrounding the flower fields :-) Who on earth came up with this idea to replace the flat ground meadows with surrounding mountains??? Very funny to watch that, well done!

It was so funny hearing an Amercan pronunciation of Dutch words. It's a shame that not all photos are made in the Netherlands. 😅
