I was always taught you start with a general test to determine if that system is okay.

Using a Relative Compression Test (RC Test) one can see right off the bat if the promblem is mechanical. If the RC test passes then you know it has to be either Fuel or ignition related. No coil swapping, no injector swapping with this test.

I cover multiple scopes like the title says, if you are looking for a quick fix, or want me to tell you swap these parts and you are done, find another channel, that won’t happen here. I teach how to do things right, NOT how to guess. This is a 20+ minute video that means it’s not a quick fix video, so don’t expect it to be quick.

Doing diagnostics for a long time, here is the best piece of advice learned about 20 yrs back. Always perform an audible relative compression prior to anything. Doesn't matter if its a misfire, feeling of imbalance, or even a tune up. My scope is always on a light rolling cart with the scanner ready to go. If I hear an imbalance, I already know my next path. Saves a ton of time and money from inspecting and checking components that are not the root cause.

Great training.. I have never setup the 720 degree markers.. I am guessing that we could see timing slip if our cylinders dont line up with the proper and expected degree lines?? correct? anyone?
