Also useful as a getaway manoeuvre when doing a bank robbery.

Took a driving course at BSR down in WV. Their saying for the process was "Lift. Turn. Shift. Burn." "lift off the gas, turn the car, shift, get back on the gas/floor it" For practice, wet parking lots helped a lot, mostly to save my tires from all that abuse.

Here's a tip which will be helpful if you're using a vehicle with a higher centre of gravity. Steer in the direction which loads up the passenger side tyres, as your body weight can help keep the vehicle stable. If you load up the drivers side during a J-turn in an SUV, you have a higher risk of rolling, as there's no extra weight holding down the unloaded tyres.

This such a cool maneuver and it is the best one on YouTube. So many people show this maneuver but don't keep the momentum going and just park the car, stopping after the 180. That's cool and all, but the momentum and speed is what makes this whole thing so cool. Thank you for not only showing the 180 but also the continued driving away

I once did one that I shouldn't be proud of. I was dropping off an (ex) girlfriend at some horse stables. She was a bit of a jerk and being a jerk on that day in particular. She was being really horrible the whole journey so when I dropped her off, I told her to 'get lost', reversed like a maniac and spun it round, executing a perfect 180 on the gravel car park in my 2002 1.6 Ford Focus.

Have been on giant cruise ships which have done reverse 180s, using lateral thrusters, to turn around and leave the port. The turning effect is the same but the duration of the turn is slower by several orders of magnitude (several minutes compared to seconds in a car).

You've made right choice in choosing Subaru for this stunt.

the snow trick is very clever, would be quite interesting to have a set of very low grip wheels/tires for practising rally techniques

I like the term the Rockford, because I love 60’s and 70’s hotshots that did their own vehicle racing stunts like Steve McQueen destroying Boss Mustangs in 90mph jumps in SanFransisco hills, that chase would’ve made any Southern hillbilly moonshiner walk home like John Wayne with their pants full of shite.
No the Big City mobsters were another breed, many trained in the Mediterranean tight roads where you make a mistake and your smashed to bits on coastal cliffs; not a soft impact in the mudpuppy swamp.
