I have an Estwing axe, I actually found it while out mountain biking on one of our local trails. It was rusted a bit, but only where it was laying on leaves. It cleaned and sharpened up nicely, so whoever lost it made my day.

And the cheap $10 hatchet from harbor freight. Love that thing, don't care about beating the crap out of it.

I've had my estwing for 6 years now and taken it to heck and back. I'm convinced the thing can't be hurt in any way.

Estwing also makes my specialty tin basher hammer, i have both, the leather wrapped handle is a pain tho cause the rings can loosen up and become wiggly

I’ve had the little estwing for over 10 years. Great hatchet.

I learned something today... I always thought these were hatchets and that axes were larger.

I actually live in Hultsbruk and have been collecting their axes for quite some time now. They are really good quality and really comfortable to hold. I love them.

The longer Estwing camp axe is my favorite. You can choke up on it and use it like the hatchet, but it is long enough to take full swings felling trees.

Mora's lightweight axe is quite good for hikes. It can be used well for splitting, hacking and slicing.

Its not the best as a primary axe but its great for camping or hiking

I have the Estwing Axe for throwing. It's awesome. The only thing is if you miss a lot, it breaks the little plastic ring and some of the leather comes off.

Recently got a fiskars 14 inch hand axe and after some heavy use over the last couple weeks it's my favorite one. The edge is holding excellent against hardwood and the handle is practically indestructible. I don't know why people still use wood. it's so light and yet feels like it will last a lifetime.

I have a very old estwing sportsman axe. I love the way it bites, and how well it holds an edge even though it's on the thin side.

I’ve been using the estwing for the past 6 years. Not once have I sharpened it and it’s always treated me well in the woods, hunting fishing, or camping

Yeah I’d keep with my Zik axe it will cut right through trees with no issues and can use as a hatchet. It has some heft but it makes up the weight with ease of use and will last forever and a day. Mine was made back in 1964 and still might aswell be new.

I own that first all steel one. Exactly why I bought it. Solid chunk of all steel, and made in America.

My top 4 axes are the Winkler Combat Axe, the Winkler Hunter Axe, the Winkler RnD Sayoc, and... (my personal favorite) the Winkler Wild Bill.

I have a silky saw to cut trees, a bk2 for splitting wood when hiding, a splitting maul for the wood stove, and a Mora for bushcrafting.

So for me a Winkler is the ideal axe.

Where does a hatchet stop and an axe begin? Have always wondered
