0:10 - Material: most axes are either made of wood (hickory or ash, fibreglass or rubber. Wood handles have a great feel
0:31 - Axe heads: Wider heavier heads like a splitting maul will bring the force. Thinner heads will give you accuracy.
0:49 - Weight test: helps you determine your level of control on the axe. If you can lift from the base, you have full control.

"Some may be a bit more curvy, some may be a bit more straight. It comes down to personal preferences."

😂 I love the public service tone of this! I prefer wood handles. Less friction and fewer blisters. Even on a sweaty palm day!

don't forget to discuss the sheath for protecting your axe next time!

Interestingly enough, drumsticks are also made of hickory, for the same reasons. It's hard enough to withstand constant battering, but also has great rebound and control.

The no-look axe throw at 0:06 was just too slick for words.

I’ve just watched three of your videos, easy to understand, informative, not too long and to the point. I really learnt what I needed, with no questions. I actually had bought a fiskars axe, the x25. I’m going to try it out
Thanks Nicole, perfect

I must say that handle material and geometry is very important. Grip, shock absorption, impact, head angle relative to the handle. If you use wooden handle, the best wood is springy one and lightweight. Ash, hickory, maple. Don’t use oak for handle, it will kick back heavily. Mushroom shape at the end of the handle prevents your hand from slipping off. +3 to nice grip.

I was waiting for several puns throughout. Although the subverted expectations of just making a nice informative video was a welcome surprise too.
