How the NBA’s Ranked Choice Voting Could Fix Democracy? 🏀

It's everyone's favorite time of the year! Election season? No! Of course I'm talking about NBA Season!

But voting in elections is almost as important! Too bad our voting system sucks! But it doesn't have to! What if we learned from how the NBA MVP is chosen and adapted our voting system to look similar!

Ranked choice voting is a slam dunk and I hope this video helps explain why it would help make American Politics just a little bit better!

We use something similar called STV to vote for our TDs (like congressmen) in Ireland. Only difference is more than one person can win per constituency. Pity I cant vote anymore since I moved abroad

I won't tell people who to vote for here but I will advocate that anyone with spare time & energy volunteer for 3rd parties, even if you still plan on voting for one of the major 2 parties. Not only would more 3rd party representation make our democracy more competitive, but 3rd parties & independents have a good track record when it comes to implementing ranked choice voting. If you plan on voting Dem I'd still encourage you to volunteer for the green party's organization efforts, likewise if you're planning on voting Republican I'd encourage you to volunteer for the Libertarian party. 3rd parties are a great space for discussion & advocacy in general, again even if you don't plan on throwing your one vote in our current system behind them.
