High draft picks are like a double-edged sword. If they are spent wisely, any franchise can become a contender in just a few years. If the franchise screws up the draft, they miss one of the few chances to make their team competitive, leaving them stuck in the mud, and ridiculed by the world. In this video, we’ll talk about those instances when the GM’s screwed up badly.

I don’t think it’s fair to call Greg Oden a bust. His career was ruined by injuries. He could’ve been better.

MJ is the GOAT...as a player. But MAN, does he need serious help owning a team

Also, Kwame needed to go to college. I will die on that hill.

You cannot call someone a bust if their career got derailed by injuries. Not every player becomes an instant success, some are late bloomers. Greg Oden does not deserve to be on this list.

When u realize Adam Morrison has more nba championships, then Charles barkley, Allen Iverson, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller, Kevin Garnett, Damian Lillard, James Harden and Russsel Wrestbrook Combined

I cannot understand why people keep calling Oden a bust. In my opinion he would be called one of biggest what if. Because, let's be honest, Greg 1st pick was absolutely legit because everyone predicted he would be the next big thing. And everyone knew the valute of KD too!
Oden was extremely unlucky with his health but he was very good. And in the games he played as a Blazer he showed he could play at an high level. But then his body collapsed.
This is why you can't call him a bust.

Honorable Mention: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was a CERTIFIED BUST and was picked before Bradley Beal, Damien Lillard, Dion Waiters, Andre Drummond, Harrison Barnes, Austin Rivers, Draymond Green... He averaged like 6 points in 8 seasons with Charlotte and NEVER accomplished ANYTHING with Charlotte. He deserves an entire video

I'm old enough to have watched Sam Bowie play. He was a stud player. Medical science was no where near then what it is today. Portland took a gamble on his health and lost. They lost again in Oden. I had no idea Portland took another bust at #1 with Larue Martin. Wow!

To summarize Kwame Brown as a NBA player, just watch old Stephen A Smith videos talking about Kwame Brown 😂😂😂😂

2 adds to Honorable Mention.
2009 Jonny Flynn. Next pick was Steph Curry.
2011 Jimmer Freddette. Next pick was Klay Thompson.
Golden State Warriors lucked out...2 times + drafted 2 GOATs! 🐐🐐

After listening to WOJ pod about Giannis's draft, I already knew how the cavs screwed that first pick. Not only they don't have any idea on who they wanted to get, they also don't know what type of player they needed even on the last few minutes.
