Massive Darkness 2: Hellscape - Should You Back It?

Massive Darkness came out in 2017, and since it came out, fans have been clamoring for a sequel. A sequel that adds and develops the game, but also improves upon it. Massive Darkness 2: Hellscape comes to us hoping to deliver on that promise, with a new class system, new mob rules, a new and fully fleshed out campaign system and much more.

I don't really like the artwork as much as for example oathsworn. Maybe a question for you, if you were to get only one of those (Massive Darkness 2 or Oathsworn), which one would you get? Still doubting about a late pledge for oathsworn ...

I do not recall hearing about it- but CMON included an update pack for MD1 owners. This in the past was an add on- I think it is slick that currently you can only get the pack if you back the game. The content from MD1 adds a huge amount of replay-ability to MD2. I also read somewhere that the crossover from Black Plague and Hordes will be included as well.

Check out the Necromancer miniature in Update 9 for a laugh. The more I look at the mini and the art the worse it gets. Look at the proportions of the arms compared to the shoulders and trapezius.

You checked out all of todays MD1 unlocks and additions? MD2 went from already great looking to Holy Sh*t I'm all -in for sure!
Awesome. MD1 campaign prologue upgraded into MD2, 4 MD1 monsters upgraded to Bosses, Pre-printed tiles ditched to make Tiles across MD1, MD2, Zombicide etc... all compatible. Freaking badass.

I never backed Massive Darkness and to be fair have heard very few of my friends ever mention it, and don't think any of my friends own it. already have all of The Others, Zombicide Invader and Cthulhu Death May Die, with Ahnk still to come. I think I will pass on this one and save my money. I figure the less I know about this the better.

Not sure if I want to back this because it looks like a reskin if zombicide even to the point where the art style looks the same. I think I might save my money and wait till Too Many Bones comes back in stock this month

Love the enthusiasm for the game.I've got this one on watch to see what comes out. I've got a couple of dungeon crawl/crawl-like games already, and from current kickstarters, I've got Valor and Villainy coming this year, and Return to Dark Tower coming next year, so I've got lighter and heavier co-op dungeon crawl type experiences somewhat covered, but as you say, the sheer amount of content and variety (and minis) that end up in these CMON bundles mean that even a regular pledge gets you a ton more content over what you would get in a retail pledge.

I guess I'm interested, but I'm not sure where it fits for me in terms of gaming niche given existing boardgames I already have (and will have by the time this would arrive) that offer similar or more weighty experiences. If I get it, I might even consider * gasp * just getting a basic pledge.
