TOYOTA RAV4 PRIME DRIVING MODES - OPERATION MODES

The new 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime is here and it has 4 modes to drive in!

When driving the 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime, you can drive it as an Electric Vehicle (EV Mode), a hybrid vehicle (HV Mode), a combination of both (Auto EV/HV) or charge Mode (CHG Mode).

When in EV mode, the 2021 RAV4 Prime will drive strictly on electric energy until it runs out.

When driving in HV mode, the new RAV4 Prime will operate using electricity and gasoline.

When driving in Auto EV/HV mode, the electricity is used to power the vehicle until when more power is needed, such as uphill or sudden acceleration, and then the gasoline engine starts to help power the vehicle.

When using Charge mode, the gasoline engine will continue to run to generate electricity to be stored. This will charge the battery up to a maximum 80% charge.

Question: my old 2016 Rav4 Hybrid limited switched back 'n' forth from electric to gas (like the Auto EV/HV mode does), but does this Prime model "Auto EV/HV Mode" also charge the battery? Thanks!

How is it your electric range is at 56miles? I have the 2022 Prime and the most I’ve seen is 43 miles when fully charged.

First of all I wanna thank you for your great explanation as I was looking for that information, because I wanted to know if RAV4 prime can be driven as a hybrid because I don’t have access to charging,
Only question I have remaining is does that mean on hybrid mode the prime is a lot more efficient than the regulate hybrid since it has a much larger battery??
