In this video I test the full range of the 2022 Toyota Rav4 XSE Prime to see just how far this car can go in EV mode. I also punch it really fast too to just see what all the hype is about this being the second fastest Toyota behind the Super. Holy smokes this thing HAULS!!!

This crossover from Toyota is absolutely amazing. The car drove great in EV mode and I averaged over 55MPG combined with both EV and Hybrid driving.

This Rav is an amazing example of how good Toyota engineering can be when they focus on something so special.

I hear on the really long road trips, the hybrid will actually get better overall MPG because once the prime is depleted, the Hybrid mode is not as efficient vs the regular Rav4 hybrid. But yes on shorter distances, the prime is better

I have a 2022 RAV 4 Hybrid xle and it also has a really surprisingly fast acceleration with 219 combined hp .I'm getting around 44, 45 mpg which is pretty good and exceeding the mfg. sticker mpg so I'm very happy with the car.

Been on a Toyota kick since I have an awesome local dealer. 21' Land Cruiser HE, 21' TRD Pro Tundra, GR86 and 4R but my wife and I fight over driving the RAV4 Prime every day. Really quite a vehicle ....Got an SE at MSRP (-$7500 fed rebate) so for ~$35k it is pretty hard to argue on utility/resale and being able to quietly smackdown fools at stoplights is an unexpected side benefit!

Full EV is not realistic in this Country.
Too much dead space between the Atlantic and the Pacific.

I lived in Wyoming for 6 years, and I can tell you that you will definitely run out of charge in an EV before you reach your destination

Great video bud!! This is the type of information I’m looking for! Another question I had is when your driving after depleting the ev battery life, and the gas motor comes on and keeps you driving and is now charging, how long does it take to recharge the battery as you drive? Like you leave for a road trip, get on the highway and use ev to start, then switch over to gas motor and recharge, if you drive for 2 hours at highway speeds will it give you 30 miles of ev driving back or how does that work?

We have a 2022 RAV 4 Prime model SE (base model) now with 6, 200 miles on the odometer. Lately here with summer on the N/W Oregon coast EV all electric range has been 50 miles + and when running on gas with a depleted battery 45+ MPG.

No range anxiety, in fact right now the dash is reading after I filled up, 587 Hybrid mile range, and an additional 56 miles of electric range with the fully charged battery. Thats over 600 miles and we don't have to ever worry about finding a charging station.

My opinion for now the plug in hybrid, the RAV 4 Prime is the best in my opinion, is the way to go and its all wheel drive as well.
