Jeanne Calment who passed away at 122 years and 164 days in 1997 earned a Guiness World Record as the oldest woman in the world. News is some surfacing though that she may have lied about her age by taking her mothers identity.

Her age has been thoroughly documented and investigated by many gerontologists, statisticians, and people who are just interested in this stuff, over the years, including me. From all the years of research and documentation on my part, I've seen the evidence, and I tend to believe she was telling the truth about her age. If she had been lying, everyone, including her hometown of Arles, would have had to "be in on it". Seems like way too much trouble to go through to fake your age. I'll admit that choosing to have your documents burned may seem "suspicious" on the surface, but we don't know why she ordered this to happen, if she even did. This "bombshell report" was nothing more than one man jumping to conclusions based on nothing more than circumstantial evidence, which the man himself even admitted was nothing more than circumstantial.
