Why are the entrances to the underground catacombs of Columbia, South Carolina so restricted? What makes them so dangerous that no one dares to enter?

Is there really an underground city beneath Mount Shasta, where an ancient civilization or aliens live, as legend has it?

Are the theories about the presence of alien bodies or secret underground tunnels under the Denver airport well-founded, or are they just fiction?

I went to Cheddar Gorge when I was a child. It was a bit freaky when we saw the skeleton (Cheddar Man) there. Also, it's definitely NOT a secret location. Lots of people visited that place and got to see the gorge and parts of the cave and the skeletal remains. I'm now 29 and the time I was there, I was maybe 5 or 6. Granted, we only saw a little of the caves, because a lot of it was blocked off from the public, but from what we could see, it wouldn't be hard to at least guess what went on.

If I did visit any of these underground sites, I would carry lots of weapons, a flashlight, nunchucks and my phone to call for help.
