Yes! A new veggie garden video! THANK YOU!! I’ve so missed seeing the progression of your beautiful vegetable garden and the crops that have been growing this year. I designed and built a potager garden this Spring that was inspired by your space. Blessings to you and your family! 💚🙏🏼🌱🌼

I love it when you show your garden videos. I did just exactly what you did with your potatoes and I got pretty many potatoes this year. I just wish you would say what the date is when you start to plant something.

I have never thought of planting zinnias this time of year ...I just love having flowers planted along with the vegetables in my garden beds!

The first frost date is just about January 1st for us here in Zone 9b.
Many pumpkins take roughly 120 days to harvest so for my friends in this zone you can still plant them. Go for it :)
Laura what a beautiful garden I'm always in awe at how amazing it looks. You work so hard.

Love all the different things you use in your garden to get more space like the metal stand you used today.

Coffee with Laura and planning tomorrows project. The peas are done at the center so I was thinking about beans or spinach in that spot and the children will love to help dig things out and plant again!!

Thanks for this "reminder" to plant for fall. We are still waiting in Northern Virginia (zone7a) for soil temps to cool down enough to plant lettuces, spinach and broccoli. Exceptionally hot both June and July here; no seeds I planted first week of July germinated.... it was an experiment. AND.... it's been too hot for tomatoes to mature. Who knew? When temps are consistently over 85, the plant cannot produce lycopene, so the fruit cannot ripen.

I was sitting on the fence about planting but you inspired me! As soon as I am done my tea I will be out there sowing more seeds where I took out my potatoes. I have a packet of zinnias so I will put them in too! I really enjoy your short videos as well as the tours. It makes me smile when I get a notification from you. Keep up the great work!

I just planted zinnias last week and they’re cute little sprouts already. So fun! Love the idea of the vines above to make shaded garden for the greens in late summer!! Thanks for another great video!! (I can’t plant seeds with gloves either! 😂)

Great video, Laura :) Your garden always looks so pretty! I always think it looks so beautiful to have colourful flowers growing along side vegetables. We planted some peas last weekend and we can't wait to do some more fall harvest planting in the next few days/weeks. Having carrots, broccoli, cabbages, basil, parsley, spinach and lettuce in the garden is amazing and makes for lovely soups and stews through fall 🍂 🎃 🍁 🍲

You can still extend your fall crop by protecting against frost with a heavy clear plastic tent over the plants. Acts as a mini greenhouse to trap wamth to protect at night.. 3mil is available in large rolls at Home Depot and is REUSEABLE so the investment is for many years to come. Pound tall stakes on both ends of your bed screw an eye bolt into top of each stake string heavy twine or lightweight rope across to make a A-frame tent. drape plastic over and anchor sides with an occasional stone on the ground so it doesnt blow away. Cut shorter end caps to enclose ends and use binder clips to attach to tent. In the morning if you still get regular day time temps in the high 60s /70s unclip the peak at one end cap of the tent and fold it down half way then unclip one bottom corner of endcap on the OPPOSITE end of the tent and fold it back and clip it in place. This creates cross ventilation so it doesnt buildup too much heat and humidity during the day. To harvest flip up the side panel and clip up in place. When season over unclip the ends, fold up the plastic attach the clips to the bundle so you have them together and store it. I've used this method for 40yrs.
