I knew that some people only cut back canes that have fruited, and others cut all the canes down each year, but I didn't know this was because there are two types of raspberries. That's useful to know.

Hi all, Ive been growing raspberry Polka for 9 years now, this year we moved them taking the suckers last autumn and we had a fine crop again from the new plants, 30 of them, they are autumn fruiting and are still producing about 1.5 pounds each 2 day pick, so we would really recommend this veriety. cheers Carl

I purchased a specific variety of Raspberry called Raspberry Shortcake. They're ideal for containers and small gardens as they only get 2 ft tall and have no thorns. They are also very disease resistant. I'm planning on converting 3 raised beds to perennial beds so I'll fill one of these beds with the raspberries this fall. I'm a fan of watching gardening how to videos and I watch a lot of them!!! Your videos are constantly hitting the 9 out of 10 and yes some of them are a 10. Here in the USA we have Spring, Summer and Autumn bearing varieties....Thorns and Thorn-less...Black, Red, Yellow and White (peachy colored). There is a vast difference in taste and quality of berry so it takes a while to pin down the variety that you love and performs the way you want.

I hope you will continue to show us your traditional cooking. It’s better than watching all those world famous chefs . Also your traditional attire and lifestyle are so wholesome, healthy and peaceful. It’s very soothing watching your videos . And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.

get on this for a raspberry.
I am growing a bush raspberry in a large terracotta pot.
It is a dwarf bush, obviously a new hybrid, but a raspberry non the less.
The plant will mature to 1 meter high and needs very little in the way of pruning.

Ideal for my small garden.
