Goulash - The Hillbilly Kitchen

Показать описание
When I made this Goulash, Bret ate it 3 nights in a row for supper. I believe he would have ate it 4 nights in a row if there had been enough of it left.

All you need to go with it is a slice or two of buttered bread and a glass of cold milk. It's a pasta dish that'll satisfy any meat and potato man.

Ingredients:

2 lbs. - Ground chuck
4 cups - Fresh tomatoes chopped
1 cup - Onion chopped
2 cups - Bell peppers chopped
1 clove - Garlic
1/4 cup Parsley chopped
2 cups - Elbow macaroni noodles
1 1/2 tablespoons - Sugar
Salt & pepper

It’s nice seeing a good food channel showing Christian values. My parents always made us eat supper at the table as a family. Mom said a family that eats together stays together. It’s true. Thanks!

This was one of the first dishes I cooked for my husband when we were first married many years ago. It was simple, inexpensive, and made me look like a good cook😀😀😀Its still a favorite today, I always made jiffy cornbread mix with it.

Thank you for posting & staying up with yr channel after losing Bret. Yr an inspiration to me. Im glad yr children have gathered around you too. Im older now & my daughter whom Ive always been close to has done the opposite. I have grandchildren I dont even know yet. It breaks my heart & my husband is having heart issues. I will be totally alone if something happens to him. Please pray for me. Bless you Becky & thank you for the recipe too. God bless!

I grew up on that kind of goulash. My mom was a Missourian. She cooked just like you, bless your heart!

OMG! I haven't gone wrong one time with any of your recipes! You cook the way my Mom and Grandmother use to cook. Your goulash recipe turned out great! Everyone in my house gobbled it up! You're the best! God Bless :)

My husband and I were just reminiscing yesterday about how we hadn't had goulash in years. Thanks for a really good recipe and I'm making it tonight! The only thing I remember differently from my Grand mother's recipe is that she added a little Worcestershire sauce. Looks good and I'm sure it will be a hit. My 24 year old has never tried it. I've neglected him LOL. He can take some home with him after dinner tonight. God bless x

I just made the goulash tonight, and I can't believe how wonderful it made my entire house smell. I had a couple of stray dogs barking out by my back kitchen door, LOL. Ha! Was also a good way to use up my canned tomatoes.

My mom and I just had this last week! She's made it for 60+ years. We use canned mild or medium Rotel type tomatoes with green chillies because we like the spice. You can keep eating and eating and eating it! 😋👍

Hi, Becky! It's Saturday night in Georgia, Feb. 27, 2021, and my husband and I are enjoying your goulash! We LOVE it!!! I took your advice and added sour cream and shredded cheese before serving. The compliments keep on coming from my husband! Thank you for a great recipe and a consistently great YouTube show! May God richly bless you and yours.

Looks delish. My version includes tomato paste, italian seasoning and maybe red pepper flakes. In summer I can use the fresh herbs from my garden.

One of my Dads was a professional hunter and after he finished giving away his own share to his other family he canned venison or mountain goat for us and I made glop. Just like your goulash but hamburger replaced with wild meats. Thank you for the memories of looking down into that pot.
And thanks for teaching me about grapeseed oil because my fries are much crispier now.
And last but never least you reminded me...GOD IS IN CONTROL! WHAT A RELIEF TO LEAVE THE DRIVING TO GOD! I'M NOT AS FRIGHTENED THANKS TO YOUR REMINDER. BLESS YOU.

I'm in my early 60s. My Grandmother used to make Goulash when I was growing up. She never put peppers in hers. It was meat, tomatoes, pasta and onions. I could never get mine to taste like hers until I started using ground chuck and a squirt or two of tomato paste in with the meat and onions. Yummy for the tummy!;)
