You are not only a great artist but also a wonderful teacher.

Once again I realise how little I know, but this is perfect Andrew, I can’t thank you enough. It’s the behind the scenes work that really counts. I refer a lot of things to plastering, as it’s the only skill I’ve mastered (ish), always room for improvement. But if I haven’t done all the prep first, smashing out loose areas of wall, gluing taping cracks etc, then the plaster would fall off or just look terrible. So very insightful, and what I love, is I feel how genuine you are, and are not trying to deliberately hold back information that frustrates us novices. Awesome work buddy, can’t wait to see the finished painting. Have a great day 😃

Your "color study" is already sell-able. Mere mortals are amazed

The way you explain it makes me feel like I can do it too. Such a great teacher who inspires more than just teach. I'm binge watching your videos and I can't get enough. You are the turning point in my life Andrew. You really are the best.

You really know what you are doing...you also have very good narrative skill and do exemplary elaborations.

Just pushing the rock in foreground and the small fall of water back made such a difference. Makes very clear your explanation about 'inviting the viewer in'. Thanks.

While your paintings and work are superb, what draws me to these videos time and again is the teaching style, talking through the work so well. It's just fabulous.

Andrew
As you know I’m not a painter, just a customer who really appreciates your great work. It’s facinating to learn about the work you put into your painting. The results don’t just pop out on the canvas. There is a lot of work behind what you do.
Cheers

I used to not pay attention to composition when I was in my first year of art in high school. Now in my second year it’s my top priority, and it makes me so happy when my composition is nice :) my teacher says that a good composition looks good from all angles too thanks so much for sharing I’m going to use your video for all my paintings and art from now on:))) thank you so much! 😁

Hello Andrew. You are the most professional and disciplined artist I ever seen, I am a newbie, I started painting only 18 month ago, I learned so much from you, I cant do all your process but I'm trying bit by bit, like doing the little sketches before the final one to see what works better. I thank you so much for your teaching and for sharing your vast knowledge with us. You are in my view a very generous teacher. I'm always looking forward to your video. Thank you again.

Excellent!!! We see that the detailed ground work—thumbnails, larger sketch, detailed larger sketch, and color study's—all work to improve a composition before making those fatal errors on a large painting that we have spent so much time on. Your process was so helpful to learn, but your photoshop skills—that will take us a lot of work to be able to use that tool. Thank you for sharing with us this valuable lesson!!! I want more.

This ended up being one of my favorite landscapes you've ever done. The richness of that foreground in contrast with the cloud covered mountains is off the chart. Spending all that time in prep work is well worth it.

I've been using photo shop in my paintings since 1997 and it is a wonderful tool to have. One thing I will never have is your discipline and patience to do the preliminary work. Nice video Andrew!

I really appreciate the momentum you carry throughout your composition stage. I tend to drive myself crazy when composing particular scenes that have the least amount of direct reference. I’ll rabbit hole so bad, to the point where it’s almost impossible to even recognize if it’s pleasing to look at or not. Anyway man, I really appreciate you making your videos available like this.

Your painting skills are of a whole different level than most artists nowadays! Great work once again 🙂 Thank you for sharing pieces of advice!

True. Art involves a surprising amount of planning and problem solving. The compositional concepts here are the same used by architects and interior designers.
