Bodycam shows the arrest of now-suspended University of Alabama freshman football player Tony Mitchell for allegedly fleeing police at 141 mph on March 15. The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office said deputies searched his vehicle after smelling an odor of marijuana, finding half a pound of weed, a loaded gun, and $7,000 in cash. The defensive back tearfully pleaded with deputies while in custody, at one point asking if he could get off if his passenger took the blame. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie has the full story.

My grandpa once told me,

“Never do more than one illegal thing at once.”

These cops were extremely lenient and gave this young man several breaks. These officers were extremely respectful.

I had a friend in college who lived in a honors dorm freshman year which meant he had a very high GPA out of high school. He just mysteriously disappeared one day and I learned that he was caught riding in a car with several stolen guns and everyone in the car took the charge since nobody wanted to tell who's guns they were. If you have a bright future, stay away from people who aren't headed where you want to go in life because they will throw you off course. My friend lost his full ride scholarship and never finished college because of that 1 day he got in that car.

Man, you can really tell these guys didn't want to end this kids career. What a shame for the kid. I hope he can turn his life around when the dust settles.

Ugh, this hit home. Been in this situation unfortunately more than once due to poor decision making and poor company. I hope this young man is able to bounce back.

You could tell that this young man is clearly hanging out with the wrong crowd. Just because you came up with someone does not mean that you have to go down with them. He made the wrong decisions and those decisions likely will cripple this kid's future. this is incredibly sad.

Had a cousin years ago who got offered a full ride scholarship to play basketball at the university of North Carolina and got it taken due to marijuana possession, hurts to see my people end up like this but he did get his second chance and I hope he’s grateful for it

Cops were extremely professional. Glad to finally see a video where they are shown in a good light. Sucks for the guy but you live and learn.

Wow. I felt for this kid. So had to read up about it. He’s back on the field!!! He got 3 years probation, a fine, and community service only. He pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and the judge was lenient. Lucky him. Lesson learned, I hope. 👍🏽

When the cop asked him where the weed is at, he looked at the passenger.
