RE-OPENING ABANDONED 4x4 TRACK buried under 10ft of snow!

Last time you saw us, we were pushing our way through deep winter snows towards one of the most famous 4WDing destinations in the US, the mighty Rubicon trail! 💪

But for the next leg of our US adventure we're taking on something a bit different... a secret locals-only trip through the backcountry of the Sierra Nevadas in Northern California. 🤫

Our mission is to reach an incredible alpine lake hidden deep in the mountains which has been closed off for months behind a wall of snow - but first, we've got some challenges of a different kind ahead of us…

It's the tail end of winter here, and while it might be looking balmy right now at only 700 meters elevation, things will be chilling right down as we climb way up into the snow over the next few days… 🥶

I camp in those Mts. at least 4 times a year. Once or twice in snow and summer then fall. I've broken that trail before from the other side. So many lakes and places to have fun at. Happy you got to see my backyard.❤

This is so awesome, I grew up 4wheeling in this area and I go fishing at and around Bowman Lake all the time. I never thought you all would be able to make it there with snow on the ground, super stoked to see you made it. You really can't beat the lakes in the Sierras, especially in the winter, for the best views in the world. Hope to see you guys do more of the awesome trails in the Sierras, this has been my favorite content from you guys.

I was on the shelf road to get to Bowman lake in the snow. Had my six year old son with me, and it was night time. My rear end started sliding off the cliff. Thankfully i have a 12 k winch on my truck and was able to winch back on the road with no drama.

Grew up in Colorado, been snow camping many many times. It is great fun, and you are right, anything hot in the snow tastes great. Pretty epic trip here, and its amazing where you guys get that heavy camera truck.

If I was to pick a camp meal - Beef kabobs (with onion, green pepper, and mushrooms), and peach cobbler.

We moved to FL a couple years ago and I seriously miss the snow and that trail in particular. There are so many good trails in that area. Early snow is much better. I felt your pain every precarious slide near the edge and just the effort it takes to pull a truck out over and over. But that's why we do it. Now I've just got sand and mud. Time for a road trip!
