Russia keen to strengthen military cooperation with China

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he is keen to strengthen military cooperation with China. Mr Putin, whose country is under heavy sanctions from the West over the war in Ukraine, said the Russia-China relationship is a stabilising factor for the region. The two leaders held a video conference, with Mr Putin's opening remarks broadcast on Russian state television. Separately, as China prepares to reopen its borders, several European countries are imposing COVID-19 rules on Chinese arrivals. But the European Union has yet to agree on the protocol for those flying in from China. A crisis meeting is said to be planned for next week.

Russia cannot be blamed for being nervous by Ukraine's desire to allow NATO to set up military posts. The war is a very sad and tragic outcome when diplomacy failed. USA's obvious intent to pick a fight with China grows more real with each day passing by. It was inevitable that when 2 bears are cornered, would join together to fight back.
