How to Fix Exhaust Rattle - Rattle Noise on Startup/Idle/Acceleration

Hello everyone! Today I do a video on how to/how I fixed the exhaust rattle noise on my 1996 Acura Integra. A lot of the time you will experience exhaust rattle against a loose heat shield, or your frame. You may also have a rusted out exhaust flange or exhaust hanger. Typically the noise will happen when the engine is under load but at low RPMs. Such as when you are idling in "Drive", just beginning acceleration, or even at startup. Regardless, it's an annoying thing to drive with, so I made this little tutorial video showcasing how I fixed mine. Thanks for watching!

You fixed your problem. I have to go to a garage an convince a mechanic that there's an annoying rattling sound coming from my car time after time. I just replaced a rusted out muffler and I still have that rattling.

Pro tip: put the foot of the sawzall against whatever you’re attempting to cut. Makes cutting rod or pipe much easier .
Ps the foot I am referring to would be the tip of the sawzall where your blade comes out of. 👌🏻

Top tip-I always have a large sheet of cardboard, saved from packaging, and use that on the ground. You can literally slide yourself about on it with ease.
It would have been perfect in this situation.

Dude you're insane having your head up underneath that car while you was jacking it up. You must be out your damn mind. I'm only typing this because I want you to be safer in the future. Never never NEVER put your head or any body part under a vehicle that is being ever. Wow man just wow.

The jacking up part had me in stitches, damn. But seriously I'm experiencing the most aggro muffler rattling ever. I got a Chevy TrailBlazer and if I press my foot to the tail pipe or attached muffler the rattling stops; take it off and it sounds like one of them rackety windups used mostly on New Years Eve countdown. In parking garages it's absolutely loud!

if you have a welder why not remove the clamp and weld the pipe

thats the exact opposite of the way I do it, put the jack near the outside and the jack stand under. But whatever, its your world, appreciate the video.
Maybe a new blade for that saws all??

I have the same. I think k when I cut out the resonator it obviously shortener the exhaust. So in winter when cold it doesn't vibrate much.. but when it's warmer out it rattles so bad. I def need to extend it. Or have a hanger pull it away. It's embarrassing lol good video man.

Try spinning the exhaust clamp round first this sometimes works.

I just used some clamps to tighten it snd it fixed the rattling

Should I be concerned that this isn't just my heat shield if I can hear it occasionally when my car is in park too?

my car started making that noise when you started accelerating it never did that sound. been trying to type it in to see if i get any luck to see if anyone with the same problem can diagnose and fix it but nothing.
anyone know how to describe that sound when he accelerates?

if tour exhaust is rattling make sure u get down to the 7 11....straight after buying the booze maje sure u visit the local brothel that will fix all rattling and then some

I recently did a muffler delete, and when I accelerate off a cold start it makes like this trumpet sound (more or less) any idea why it’s doing that ? I have 2010 camaro.

Lol I have same car I have integra rs 1995 special edition but my rattling is louder cause the way I bought it, came with a big ass exhaust
