Yes, guys, there can be more than 1 sound at a time. You just have to fix the loudest one first to hear anything else. He made sure it was good, and found another problem. By your comments that attempt to call him out, you just prove you haven't been wrenching long.

Ive done this shit a long time. I can confirm u have had this exact problem. New 02, good to go. Easy peasy. You are the only other person I've seen with that problem, out of several thousand exhaust rattles fixed through the shop.

Damn, I’ve been chasing the same type of rattle on my 04 GMC Yukon. Changed mufflers, cats and thought it was exhaust manifold bolts that broke. Never thought to check the O2 sensors. Thanks. I’ll try that tomorrow😊

I had 97 Sierra all original and almost 500, 000 miles with a V6 4.3. I had a 99 Sierra with almost 500, 000 miles all original except for the starter! I also had an old one Silverado with a 4.3 Vortec ran over Mi with everything intact this truck does not surprise me.

Man thank you for this, have been having a weird rattle for months on my VW GTI and also a O2 sensor warning for a year. Now that I’ve seen this, it’s starting to make sense. My rattle only happens at startup and at certain revv range especially uphill.

It’s all adding up now.

I use to help my Fuel and Ignition instructor clean up the lab after class and found a random spark plug sitting out. I asked what he wanted done with it and he said "that's the magic spark plug". I said ?? He responded, When someone comes into class claiming know everything he would ask them to replace the spark plugs on his honda civic. Super easy right? When I would hand them the new plugs to put in I would put the "magic spark plug" in with the known good ones. The magic plugs core was broken and when you shook it you could hear it was bad, but looked brand new. Stay frosty gang!

Some of yall need to pay attention! Listen to the part where I mention the rattle wasn't near as loud after the new muffler was installed. The old muffler had a broken baffle that could be heard a solid 100 yards away. Once that very loud rattle was fixed I could then hear this much quieter rattle that was also very intermittent. Do you REALLY think I would have even mentioned the new muffler if the old one hadn't failed???

In fact, the customer declined replacing the oxygen sensor and is still using that same oxygen sensor today as the rattle isn't loud enough to bother him.

But yall just keep on runnin' that mouth 🤣

I changed the downstream O2 sensors on my Yukon... They weren't HALF that easy to remove! A whole bunch of penitrant, swearing, and exhaustive effort is what it took to remove mine... Maybe you showed us this bit AFTER doing the same, but man, let me tell ya: that's a job I won't easily forget...

I actually had this exact same problem with my suburban 2500 which has 420, 000 mi on it. So I replaced all four oxygen sensors. Only to start it up and hear another rattle coming from the one band clamp in the entire exhaust system. So I welded that together and solved the problem.

I had the SAME probkem in my 01 silverado. The muffler guys got PISSED off when they figured it out cause they told me it was my muffler and they had to refund my money
