take a shoe organizer 14 dollar 28 pockets only poke some holes in the underside of the pockets, great results in half the time to make one of these.

I'm seriously considering doing this with heavy 8 ozs. PET felt instead and wondering if it would work as easily as this works. A 10 yd. bolt is $91 but it would be a hell of a lot less expensive than buying it premade for the 23' x 3.5' wall I have to do.

Could I sew the pouches instead of using cable ties?, or will that make the pockets to tight for putting plants in?
