There is one major problem with this monitor. Dell uses two or even three different panels with different characteristics. These two other panels have much worse contrast (below 1000:1) and are much less accurate in terms of colors. Check comments under Rtings review.

From the US: we appreciate you reporting on good deals over here even when they may be a ripoff at home for y’all!

You should probably add black uniformity to your tests, Tim. Some people deem it far more important than uniformity on any other color.

Also Forum VRR Support for Playstation 5! @1440p 120hz as mentioned on the the essentials checklist. Can confirm it works flawless AFTER you activate it "console mode" in the menu. to spare you worries :D

Tim please make a video on the abhorrent quality control of these low end ips monitors and the false advertising by "switching panels", it seems these scummy companies are pumping as much trash into the market and seeing how many RMA's and warranty attempts they can refuse and get away with...

Been so happy with this purchase - i think a few of us were asking for it in your monitor round-ups late last year.

Bought it on a black friday sale last year as an xmas prsent for my son for direct from dell for just £146.24 after combining some discount codes - unbeatable really.

Excellent image quality and contrast ratio for an IPS panel too.

In Germany this monitor is currently available for ~230 EUR with the XG27ACS going for ~270. thats only a 17% difference for better refresh compliance/response times/input lag, 180Hz and even better color performance - which is probably worth it if you are going to keep the monitor for a couple years. sadly the AOC Q27G3XMN is still 360 EUR around here.

Thanks for the review.

Someone went around saying they switched to a different panel for this one in some places and there's no coverage on it.

I did however confirm with Asus that the Asus XG27ACS since you reviewed it also uses innolux panels, no idea what percentage, if it's replacing the BOE panels or if it's particular countries, but it was Asus USA. I was originally looking for info on the new XG27ACG which has the same shell as the ACS but is an "AUO" panel.

I've gone back to recommending the G2724D here in Aus as it looks like we still stock AUO for it at the least.

Any chance of a reviews of the G Pro 27i from Xiaomi? 1152 Micro LED zones for same price as the AOC one with 336 zones.

So many mixed reviews on this monitor from consumers. Some say is trash, others say is the best monitor they've ever used. I usually don't trust a lot of negative reviews since PC gamers are VERY picky. I mean someone in this comment section is saying a monitor that doesn't do 240hz shouldn't be considered a gaming monitor...good god...

Thanks for great review! Also thanks for adding to essentials checklist section with Panel bit depth, it is very important to receive a correct information from a manufacturer because i'm affected by FRC tech. I would also ask you to mark in checklist as failed if manufacturer didn't mention about FRC. Thank you very much for your hard work.

In my country the MSI MAG274QRF-QD is cheaper than this one by 20% or more, depending on where you get it from. I think that one easily is the best 1440p monitor one can buy given its price now.

I currently have the ASUS PG32UCDM 4K QD OLED as my main monitor and its brilliant. I decided to purchase the Dell G2724D as my secondary monitor and suffice to say I am very impressed!

What about U series? They renewed it with more eye care technologies, IPS black(2000:1 contrast ratio) and 120 Hz refresh rate for 27, 34 and 40 inches. Can you review Dell U2724DE, U3425WE and U4025QW? And not just for gaming but productivity and are they truly much better for eye health if you need to work 8-10 hours in front of it?

There's also the KOORUI GN07, 27E1QA, and 27E3Q. I have the GN07 and my only issues with it is ghosting on faster response times and wobble on the provided VESA stand. Beyond, I think it's awesome.
