I'm brand new to trying this, I sound monotone or like I'm just reading the script. I don't understand how to make it sound emotional. I will try these tips and see how it goes! Thanks!

great tip. I often say a name of a friend of mine at the beginning of a script. That can help to

I'm really trying to improve my narration/voice over work in my videos but I sound too much like a robot reading from a script a lot of times. Thank you for this information.

Thank you for the great tips,
What if I mirror-flip slides using PPT Mirror tool for my iPad and display them in TTL (through the lens)in teleprompter, so that I can only use talking points to keep my presentation conversational as I have my whole concept in front of camera, do you recommend that option?

Stumbled upon your video and so glad I did. I’ve been a voice talent for 16 years now and perhaps becoming a bit lazy. I’m starting to get comments such as, “she sounds too robotic“ (Gadzs, the worst right?). I’ve been doing the things you are suggesting and your video was great confirmation. Think I need to be more mindful and I appreciate your sharing of information. Thank you, all the best to you.

Thank you for the video, Also interesting that's the advantage of using Powerpoint as teleprompter software, I simply mirror-flip my existing slides with ppt mirror tool (using bluetooth remote) and display them in a teleprompter, as I always have my whole concept in mind, I use bullet points structure to avoid over-scripting myself out completely in front of camera which leads my presentation to sound natural and conversational.

Hi, thank you for the great tips. I use the combination of the PPT Mirror app & iPad with Powerpoint presentation slides in a Teleprompter to lead me while I speak and keep my conversation on target by using bullet points to sound natural and authentic on video without scripting myself out completely.

I am a new voice actor with a burning desire to take my skill to the next level. While my voice acting realism with memorized scripts is relatively good when I'm not reading; there is a problem: My conversational realism is not as good while I'm actually reading. So my question is: *How do I act in a more realistically resonant way when actually reading the script?* By the way, I appreciate the video!

As I said, While this acting realism does not happen to the same degree when I'm actually reading the script out loud, it happens when I'm beginning to memorize or have memorized the script. These two modes of acting (memorized versus reading) feel very different in my mind. In fact, I find that when *I've realistically acted a memorized script, and I then try to act it while reading the result is not as good as if I'm not reading.

I've also noticed the more I've analyzed the script (and eventually memorized it), and the more I let go and live the story, the more realistic my acting. However, I find it very difficult to achieve the same level of realism while I'm reading the script out loud, even after I've analyzed and memorized it -- *the reading itself seems to get in the way*

So again my question is:*How do I act in a realistically resonant way when reading a script?* I think my challenge I have difficulty being fully immersed in or connected to "the theater of my mind" (as I've heard voice actors call it) as I read. As I said, I'm a new voice actor with a burning desire to take my skill to the next level, and I would deeply appreciate any feedback you can give. Thanks
