I hope Shinkai is next for an Academy Award after Miyazaki. He clearly deserved it in "Your Name" in 2017 but the Academy snubbed it. He's now working on his next film after "Suzume" although I am toning down my expectations as shown in "Weathering with You" and "Suzume" didn't live up to the standards of "Your Name."
