Seeing the difference from Hubble to Webb is like me looking at something in the distance without my glasses, and then putting them on and looking. An entirely different sense of depth and resolution. It's really totally amazing to me, having grown up with pictures from the Hubble. Exciting times without a doubt.

Hi Anton, one of the things I love the most about JWST images of the pillars is that, by contrast to Hubble, we can actually see features in the JWST images that show different rates of movement within the clouds. By analyzing the different IR frequencies, they can see the different internal features of the pillars and even some things beyond!

Can't really decide whether the image from the pillars of creation with the red glow from the new stars or the rings from the binary system is my new all time favourite astronomical image. It's one of those two, they're just astonishing.

The universe we live in is so unbelievably beautiful yet at the same time absolutely terrifying. The amount of existential dread I get as well as an equal amount of awe and fascination is incredible :). Glad to live in the time period where we are getting to see these types of images, as well as being able to learn so much more about the reality we live within.
