Fujifilm have just dropped the X-T2 - but how does it compare against it's slightly older twin brother, the X-Pro 2? We take the siblings out for a friendly competition in the marshes of Hong Kong.

Why on earth does every reviewer have to mention selfies. Probably 99% of XT-2 buyers aren't going to be concerned that they can't take a selfie with their camera.

I personally really like the evolution of the X-T2. Fujifilm does not giant steps with each new model, but the evolution is very solid. Perhaps, I get the impression that from Fujifilm are giving much importance to the additional grip, I guess it's to sell in pack, but coincided with you that a camera should be lighter than a DSRL not have much sense to give so much importance. It's called clay pigeon shooting or clay target shooting. There are three kinds: skeet shooting where they shoot at two clay targets shot from two different traps, trap shooting where there is one target shot out from one trap, and sporting clays which is like golf where you go to different stations on a course.

What would you recommend for a beginner?

I have a GoPro Hero 4 Black and a Fuji Finepix F31 fd which I haven't used in a while and generally use my mobile phone.

Cameras which have caught my eye are the Panasonic GH4, Sony Alpha R7 II, Fuji X-T2 and Nikon D500.

I want something not overly heavy and bulky but want exceptional photo quality mostly for use on holiday shooting

Might also eventually buy underwater housing to get better results than the GoPro whilst diving.

I misread the description first, "shooting drones" usually happens in America. XD

The way it flips gets in the way of holding the camera. Geniuses working at Fuji! The GH4 has LOG 4K that you can record internally. The reason no one uses it is that 8-bit LOG is mostly useless due to banding. Maybe V-Log2 will reserve more space for blue skies and skin tones.

Gotta remember that the X-Pro 2 is getting an AF firmware update in October....will give almost the same spec as XT in this respect.

The autofocus comparison between the X-Pro2 and X-T2 done here is pretty inaccurate. The X-T2 probably performed better because the drone didn't have any "background" for it to lose focus.

Loc is a nice person, but it becomes abundandly clear now that DigitalRev was a one- man- Show. Kai was the face, the brain and the mouth of it. Very intelligent guy, with quite a cynical humour and a grain of crazyness. Not taking anything too serious, luckily.
This here feels like playground for outgrown children.

AF test was pretty poor. X-Pro2 focused on the tree behind, while X-T2 had only sky as background...

I was surprised about the autofocus results compared to the Xpro-2 especially given that the appeal of the Xpro-2 to street togs. An XT-2 is a better bet to not missing a shot in autofocus.
