To anyone moving into a new flat this is often something you need to do to get your water running when you get your keys, just turn it counterclockwise

I was advised that I should always turn this off if leaving my house for more than a week, is this correct?

What about if the hot water is off a cylinder ?. The stop tap will not turn that off in the event of a leak

Hi I am getting hot water in the shower. But kitchen & bathroom sink the water is coming when hot tap turned on but it’s coming out cold/ luke warm -can anyone help with this what is the issue?

I have a combi boiler located on the ground floor. I have located the valve to turn off cold water both downstairs and upstairs and no where I can see a valve to turn off the hot water supply from the boiler. I need to change the basin taps in the bathroom upstairs and I am stuck since the hot water is still running. I can see the hot water pipe running along the kitchen and then upstairs but no valve. Please help.

A work man turned the water off in my mothers house then asked my elderly mother to go up stairs and turn all the taps on. Is there any reason why you would do this? I’m just worried that she was being tricked in some way.
