The Starfarer may also be a good competitor from the cargo comparison perspective. Also, CIG changed the SCU cargo space for this ship to ~468, down from 522. That is a significant change. I will most likely do new reviews over time as the game continues to change, etc..

The Starfarer has 12 troop seats in the cargo bay, and can carry cargo. I think that's another apt competitor with the M2 as far a size, weapons, and its ability to carry both cargo, vehicles, and troops. It's also closer in size to the M2 than the Valkyrie. My 2c.

I own one m2 Hercules

I havennt try it yet but
I did always think this ship is very
Balanced.
You have fire power, armor heavy,
Space-room for big vehicles
And personals and weapons storage., and long range travel.
Big radar,
So overall this ship is capable and polyvalent.
Perfect for players solo with money and npc should make it even better with

Kinda bugs me that another bed slot is possible/there but is not used/is closed off. Could just be symmetrical with the beds to the right and open up access to the top left bed.

As you say... It is a drop/cargo as you say. I agree you need an escort, but it is an incredible asset in case you need ground vehicles. Combined with a Valkyrie and some fighters can provide a good size ground force. We'll see what armor brings us. Great review. Remember earning in-game ships, with large fleets, you will need to keep up with the renewals of insurance. It will take added management.

Also, the Star Runner/Cutlass Black can have the capability of bringing troops and vehicles on the ground... not as safely... but can have that capability

Not an air to air combat ship but at full crew and with its tankiness (i test it and it is a space tonk for sure) i assure u that it can take many of the light figters

Why'd you completely ignore the Starfarer as a competitor ? It has 12 jumpseats in the cargo bay which can haul multiple vehicles, and the optional 6 cargo modules could carry anywhere between 30-60 SCU each. So the total cargo capacity ends up being 471-651 SCU. The Starfafer might not be as fast and agile but It has way more turrets aimed all around and has an actual roof turret to defend itself from attacks from above. Oh, almost forgot: optional 9x S3 missiles !

My biggest criticism would be this, for the love of God why are both turrets under the craft not tied together and controlled by one operator ? It's so obvious, I just fail to understand the logic of not doing this ? You can build in the weapon dead fire zones for each gun due to positioning. Comn On CIG !

M2 is the best! I melted my Carrack for M2! The carrack is useless to me cause no pilot controlled guns. In addition to the M2, i love the design and color. the Carrack is ugly no offense.

Wow a content creator of star citizen not focusing on rule of cool, and actually sais that it might change in the future. Hat off. As direct competitor I would probably have gone with the MISC Starfarer Gemini, Hercules Starlifter C2, MISC Starfarer, Drake Caterpillar. Why I wouldent go with the Valkyrie is because the ships work in symbiosis and the size is to different. You will probably not drop troops with the hercules M2, those seats are for the vehicle crew, and with force reaction in place I think it will be hard for troops to get down to the lower deck by elivator then run 50 meters, and the 20 more to get of the ramp. Ofcourse it could be done, but id use the valk for that. Gemeni is the best comparison as it has the same purpose, even though its main purpose is to deliver fuel. Second is the C2 as its the same ship with less armor, but more cargo and alot cheaper, and that is the secondary use for the M2 as well. both those things apply to the Misc starfarer aswell. And caterpillar would be the competitor as it has a tiny bit more cargo space and are more versatile with interchangeble modules, but the armor and its manuvrebility is way worse then the M2, Its also alot cheaper though. and I think most people that are thinking of buying any of the m2 or c2 actually consider the caterpillar as an cheaper option. The other thing is that I dont think its a long distance huller, It might be medium range, but as there haven't been any indications on extra fuel tanks, I think it will be medium range, meaning 2-3 systems before refuel. I think the hull series will both take it in range and cargo capacity when they come out, though the advantage of the m2 and c2 is that it can go fully loaded in to atmo witch the bigger hull series wont. Good video though, I actually think I will subscribe to you if you keep this kind of videos comming
