This ship has one of the most realistic design in the game. . looks like this fits in the real world.

I'm planning to use my C2 (as a Civilian Independent Contractor) not just as a trader but also to haul the Org's toys (to non-spawning areas), such as racing craft (M-50s, P-52s, P72s, Cyclones, etc...), multi-ROCs (mass mining) and resupply troops (except; Ballistas and Tanks) to a cleared LZ. ;-)

M2 for me. I think the armor could offset costs of operating expenses by prevention of losses due to attacks. I don't want to be limited to safe areas. Plus, like you said, it is also designed for dropping tanks, ballistas into hot zones. C2 may maximize profits per run, but M2 will avoid losses in the long run. Losses take time to overcome.

I got the M2 to carry the Tonk and the Ballista, you combine it with a Valk, and you have a load of troops and vehicles on the ground. You can use the Cat or the Carrack... or even the MSR, for cargo. I have a few Hulls for that too. Now, the M2 is slower and less maneuverable that the C2, keep that in mind

I got the m2 since i m in a very active org and we need m2s to haul our tanks etc safely in the future.

I went with the C2. M2 seems great but it seems like a ship for org battles, something I don't plan on being part of and I want to move cargo, plus it was a lot cheaper the M2 and especially A2 are just way too much money for what they are IMO.

this is an old vid so i am guessing this was not known info...but the a2 is the same as the m2 with the addition of the moab system and a little less cargo. the a2 can fit a tank, a balista and a dragonfly between the moabs. so not losing much in what you can put down for ground forces with the m2 so i would say the a2 is the clear winner with more options. other than the price... however after a decent ccu chain i picked up the a2 lti for about the price of the m2 and i believe i already explained why.

Thanks for the video and sharing your thoughts on the Hercules variants. 🙂

Originally I was only mildly interested in getting the C2 and as such I purchased a $10 "Merchantman-to-C2" back in the day because I still had access to a Merchantman at the original $250 pricetag. But then CIG increased the CCU-value of the Merchantman to $450. That enabled me to get a "Merchantman-to-M2" for $30. That got me to thinking if I might be able to lower the price up to a Merchantman even further and started looking around in my account. Turns out I still had some old $0 CCUs in my account for some reason as well as some discounted Warbond CCUs that CIG had been offering during the Anniversary Expo.

In the end I managed to make an 11-steps CCU-chain to an M2 and managed to get one for just $195. At that price I was perfectly happy owning an M2. I already own the Mercury Star Runner and the Ares Inferno as I like the design of Crusader Industries ships. So this Hercules M2 should fit in perfectly.😃

Pretty much how it shakes out. Think you'll need the armor, take the weight penalty.

I got the C2 cause I plan on being insulated enough from danger that an escort would typically suffice. Since I see myself in that more peaceful area and want to be somewhat ground based. The C2 makes sense for me. Especially once real world funds factor.

Still, I may end up closer to combat than I think so, I'll probably stash a ccu. Just in case the game gets a lot more conflict based than I think it will be.

The title should be " Which star lifter should you buy. in less than 60 seconds." but you nailed it, buddy. +1 Sub

A2 is specific?

The Crusader A2 Hercules or Hercules Starlifter is a military heavy gunship and bomber. The A2 gunship has been used to devastating effect in airborne assaults, search and rescue operations, and landing initiatives. With more than double the firepower of the M2, and a custom bomb bay capable of delivering a staggering payload, the A2 caters to anyone hauling massive amounts of cargo through potentially unfriendly skies.

I started with a C2 and an M2 CCU. I then changed direction and went to the Liberator instead. Same cargo, + 5 vehicles.

I took the M2, upgraded, got tag team interdicted, was able to defend myself and survive till org members arrived to assist.
They said I had wrecked about 80% of one, and 50% of the other

Between the C and M2 it really depends on how much difference its gonna actually make. The M2 trades speed and vehicle/cargo capacity for durability. The additional turret is probably not gonna make too much of a difference. With ships like the caterpillar and Starfarer we already know that ships of that type require a lot of firepower to take down when equiped with the right shielding. I feel the M2 got an extremely niche role since dropping vehicles into such hot combat zones where it matters will probably be a very rare occurance.

I have a CCU chain up to the M2 prepared, and while which one I get between the M2 and C2 partly depends on what happens in the cargo space that the C2 gives up, I will most likely get the M2 to do high-risk cargo runs in low sec space. I think people greatly underestimate the value of armor in the distant future, and that the M2 will be significantly more robust than the C2.

It'll also be just as good (if not better) than the C2 for hauling large equipment, and not every player that owns a ballista or tonk and wants to move it will have a way to haul them. Plus it'll be nice to assault bases with AA turrets; drop a friend in a tonk off and do a loop while they destroy the turrets, then land close to the base again and clear it.

C2 cause I'm a civilian that wanna haul high volume cargo around down to the surface.

All those MISC HULL ships have massive cargo dropped off at space stations, and all that cargo needs to go down to the surface somewhere.
So max cargo capacity C2 will max profit that way, sure I'd burn a lot more fuel but I win that back in the long run due to the time saved going up and down so much faster than anything else of its size.

Not to mention it would should be cheaper in insurance than the other i mean real world price shows a significant difference in that area.

And then theres the thing about "danger" I've never been in real danger other than multiple attempts to get me when on a landing pad ( Port Olisar) so I figure my way of staying away from others has worked out so far so good 😄👍
