The $2 Million Dollar Super Mario Bros SCAM!

WATA grading, Heritage Auctions, and now Rally have been racking up huge sales of Nintendo video games such as Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda, and now the most expensive game in history: Super Mario Bros. Is there something sinister going on with this? Is this a scam? I think so.

Collecting retro games is about nostalgia for me, so I think buying sealed games is kind of ridiculous. 1) You want to actually PLAY the game, that's where the nostalgia comes in. 2) No one actually kept the boxes when we were kids, so seeing the box on my shelf wouldn't bring up nostalgia as much as actually seeing the out-of-box cartridge.

Just because your not in on ground level and had the knowledge of extremely high rated sealed games doesn’t make it a scam. Also, if they opened up that “prototype”, just simply touching the screwdriver to the screw and turning it, that would lower the overall grade… When your dealing with high grades literally everything counts. ONCE MORE, you compare it to comic books, stating it’s paper and games aren’t as rare, GAME BOXES WERE MEANT TO BE THROWN AWAY, so to have a box at all is one thing, having a sealed box is ANOTHER thing, having a sealed box that’s graded say a 9.5 is ANOTHER thing, having a box that was meant to be thrown away, sealed and graded that is a 9.8 is INSANITY… Why even speak on something if you have no idea about grading or sealed games???
