Not a 3D printer but I work with wood. The unexpected tool I use daily is... other wood, honestly. I use scrap wood to align the pieces I'm carving and keep my tools from damaging the surface I use to carve.

Imagine making this but not being able to get it off because you don't have a spatula

There is a remix of this with both a replaceable blade and blade holder. I highly recommend that version as these wear out fast and the replaceable blades can be printed in ~5min.

Plus you can do the pieces in different colors for a nicer look, especially with the hex color inserts.

True story: I started 3d printing 2 days ago and this is the second thing i printed, without being told to. Its a must in my opinion.

Imagine the spatulas got really stuck after printing and you didn’t want to damage them with the metal ones 😂

That's a pretty cool build, I decided to just use blue masking tape that painters use. I have that on my build table and just peel it up when a 3d print is finished.

The bladed ones are definitely better than the full plastic. I printed both immediately after doing a benchy to compare the two and the plastic tip immediately dented and failed to lift up more complex prints stuck to the surface. I've had no issue with the razor one and replacement blades are about $3 (which I won't need for quite a while), plus it cleans off any leftover stickiness

Thanks for the tip about this tool! I just printed one with good result. Have another model printing, waiting to use the spatula on it when it's finished :)

I had a thic piece of acrilic like 2 cm thick laying around - it’s great for bumping loose those builds, just slide it accross the plate and bump.. I think I never used a scraper..

Put the angled side down! you will find it works much better :)

Nice, although I initially thought you made a multi holed hex tool

I dont 3d print but I use godhand side cutters when I build model kits. they are def one of the best things I have ever bought. they cut through plastic like butter

i use a mirror polished super finely honed wood chisel for popping things off my build plate.

the only thing that really needed any actual force with a box that took up most of the build plate surface area.

everything? lightly tap the side at the adhesion point with the edge of the chisel, off it pops. no scratches, no major force.

would not recommend unless you're willing to put the time into prepping the chisel though, or you may get scratches in a glass plate like i use (creality coated).
