Oh, love this. Good info and explains why the one basil plant I grew died an unnecessary death. Now armed with this knowledge, we can aim for success. Thank you! 💖

Thanks! I've got healthy Basil, & it reseeds itself well, but I've been harvesting it all wrong! That's why i get such tall, leggy plants. 😄 South Florida is getting our coldest nights yet this winter this weekend. You probably laugh at 39 as really cold- but my plants aren't used to that! I run strings of mini lights on the ground in the mulch with sheets over the tropical plants i can't bring in. A couple hundred can take care of a clumped group of several small citrus bushes & a dozen or so smaller pots clustered around them.

What was the fertilizer you used? How do you make it? Do use after each time you take leaves off? New to all of this and trying to learn : ) thanks Mary W

I grow my basil by vertical gardening with pop bottles. My south window is always full of herbs. Just need to learn fertilizer better
