Hey forensic scientist student here! Just clarifying, cherry pits do contain amygdalin, which turns into cyanide (HCN) when metabolized. You need at least 20-40 pits (depending on size/type) to reach toxic levels (50mg cyanide). 2 pits aren't enough. Also, cherry pits contain 3% amygdalin (0.17% HCN). Lowest lethal dose is 50mg. Variations: black cherries (0.27% amygdalin, 0.016% HCN), red cherries (0.4% amygdalin, 0.024% HCN). Lethal amounts: black (312.5g, 31 pits), red (208g, 20-25 pits)

Btw fun fact:
~hydrogen cyanide smells like bitter almonds and if used end up breathing it in you can go into cardiac arrest.

~ Also if you bake cherry pits the amygdalene can't harm you and you can use them as almond extract.

The answer: He extracted 0, 004mg cyanide from one cherry, meaning 0, 008mg in total. I looked up the lethal Dosis, and it should be around 1, 5mg per kg of body weight, meaning an averagely weighting person (80kg) would need approx. 120mg of cyanide. So no, it does not kill you (still wouldn’t test it though)
