I’ve lived in the Piedmont of NC since I was born in 1968 and love camping. I have never camped at Uwharrie due to the stories I grew up hearing about Bigfoot and other strange encounters.

They're definitely are things in North Carolina. I experienced something ripping down ginormous trees on the Yadkin River one night. The first tree it pushed over must have been 200 yards or more away but it was big enough to wake me up it came down the river pushing trees over in my direction and as it got close to me things got quiet. I was on this giant ledge waiting for whatever it was to come up over the hill and bust it in the face with some birdshot. Things stayed quiet for about 20 minutes and then I heard trees crashing past me going away Downriver. I just can't imagine the mass of something that can push a tree down. It literally sounded like a silent bulldozer. I must have camped out 500 times in my life probably 150 of those times by myself. That's the only time I ever experienced anything but I sure enough experienced it!

IN Dec 1979, I and a girl friend were camping in a very remote area in East OK and at 2AM in 18 degree weather she heard the first vocalization and VERY quietly woke me up and quietly whispered right into my ear with GREAT dread: "Did you hear that?" I shook my head "No" - and about a minute later we heard it again. It wasn't a howl or a scream or a yell. It sounded mostly human but it wasn't human because the range and the length was not human. With my piano and choral background I placed the first and highest "note" in the 3rd octave above middle-C on a piano (notes that Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, etc. could hit) but this vocalizer wasn't straining AT ALL and the final and lowest note (in a downward cascading vocalization) was in the octave below middle-C - a four octave range by a human-like creature at 2AM in 18 degree weather with snow and ice on the ground and we hadn't seen a person for 2 hours before retiring. Most frightening was that I immediately interpreted it as not being an animal because it was showing intelligence and most noticeably "lament" and "tiredness". It was clearly expressing human emotion. There were no other campers/people anywhere. By far the most scared I ever was. Never went back. A few years ago I got to speak 1-on-1 with Harvey Pratt who was a Chief in Oklahoma and worked with David Paulides on sketching sightings by Indians in Oregon. I told him this story and he said that he knew "exactly" where we were camping and that area "had been a hot-bed of BF sightings and vocalizations for over 100 years." I was glad I didn't know that when we pitched the tent that night. :)

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve been a Bigfoot researcher for a long time, now living in the Raleigh area. I’ve exchanged thoughts with Ron Morehead and many other well known researchers, too. I’ve spent time sitting in the woods in the middle of the night with Igor Bourtsev and worked closely with Dmitri Bayanov before his passing a few years ago. I can tell you that pretty much anyone who has seriously pursued this subject reaches a point where the big hairy ape hypothesis no longer covers it. Dave Paulides, well known for investigating human disappearances, started out looking for BF too, and concludes that some poorly understood aspect of physical reality is responsible. I had an encounter when I was 15 or 16 out hunting one evening. It had gotten dark as I was walking home through a field along side the edge of the woods. I was probably about 100ft from the wood line I heard a noise I immediately looked over and I saw red glowing eyes and as soon as whatever it was knew I knew it was there it sounded like something started tearing down the trees. I had a gun pointed toward it but was still scared to death. It seemed it was mad that i was there. The trees being torn down lasted about 10 seconds and suddenly stopped, I didn't see the eyes no more either. I stood still, finger on the trigger waiting for whatever it was to jump out running at me but nothing happened. After a few seconds I started to walk backwards all the way home which was about a half a mile through a wide open field. Like the man in the video said I still to this day wonder what I encountered. This happened in Kentucky I think in November between 2001-2003.

When he described the faces in the orbs of light I got full body chills. I’ve had some experiences with them as well and the inter-dimensional aspect of them. I live in NC as well. Thanks for sharing this story.

The orbs sound demonic, what the dad saw and that they left when he prayed. Bettina Moss had a Dogman encounter and that one’s eyes were blue. It so hard to tell what these creatures are! Scary encounter. Thank you for sharing.😊
