In this video, we go over how to get approved for any credit card and avoid getting your credit card application denied. These credit card tips, including how to call a credit card reconsideration line, should greatly improve your chances for approval! Click "Show More" to see Ad Disclosure.

So in order to apply for credit cards, it’s important to first follow 3 steps that will provide you with the right information and give you the best approval odds. We want to identify things like our credit score, income, and more so that we know what credit cards we can qualify for. It’s also important to optimize for these things before we apply for certain credit cards if they are currently not where we want them to be.

This video is going to go over everything to know about the credit card application and credit card approval process, as well as what to do if you actually have your credit card application denied at first. There are numbers that you can call for each issuer for credit card reconsideration, so I’ll go over how to approach these calls to give yourself a very good chance at getting your credit card denial reversed.

I was denied for the Chase Freedom Flex at first, but after I called the reconsideration line, I moved some of my credit limits around and was approved.

Everything Daniel said here is true. I definitely emphasize calling the reconsideration line if you're denied, particularly if you have followed the steps listed in this video. I've been denied for all three Chase cards I've applied for initially. In my case, the computer algorithm didn't like me for whatever reason, but explaining my situation to a person resulted in me getting approved each time. The representative can have insights that the algorithm may miss and each time, I got the impression that they want to help you out, as long as you can show you're safe to lend to. Of course your mileage may vary, but definitely give them a call if you get denied.

Just got my first Chase card! Lets go, went from a 590 in April to a 748 mid July. I knew I would get approved, still super stoked! Will probably be getting more cards later on

When I applied for the Chase Freedom Unlimited I was initially denied. I had only had one credit card with a low limit that I had accidentally maxed out once. I called the reconsideration line and they told me that my available credit was too low for the card. I asked if I could have a lower credit limit and they approved my application. Ask and you shall receive (within reason of course).

Got denied for both basic citi cards but had seen your videos months before to have the reconsideration line in my back pocket, ended up getting approved for both with little to no persuasion. Thanks!

(For reference, these were over the last eight months not both just now haha)

I'm soon to be 24 with seven credit cards with a 2.5 years of average age. I've never been denied but you better bet I'm calling reconsideration line if I ever get denied lol. All the hard work and discipline I've put in with my cards to keep a high score (high 700's), my ego just wouldn't let me let it pass... I'm done with credit cards aplication for now, last card I applied was November last year. I have the cash back cards I needed (both Freedoms, Custom Cash, Discover It, US Bank Cash Plus, Amazon Prime...) just want my average age to grow 💪🏾

Hey there! First things first, you probably can't even imagine how much you're helping other people with your videos. The quality is good, as is the information. Now, I do like the content you make, and as an American you only know how things work in America, but is the (general, non-US-specific information) true for other countries as well? If not, do you know of any way to get reliable and easy to understand info about all that?

I just got my approved for my 3rd card this year, I got the Chase Freedom Unlimited. Didn't get instantly approved. So I called the reconsideration line a few weeks later and got approved. This is my first year building credit so far I have the Discover it, Amex Blue Cash and now the CFU. Next is wait 6 months to a year and apply for Amex Gold or the Chase Sapphire Preferred. 👍Thanks for the videos super helpful !

Appreciate your videos! I have always paid only with a debit card and that made sense to me at the time. Your videos have been enlightening to a new way to think about finances. I recently applied for the Amex Gold card and Chase Freedom Flex. My goal is to complete the Chase Trifecta first to avoid the 5/24 rule. I was wondering your thoughts on how soon is too soon to apply for subsequent cards in the set up to avoid raising eye brows and limit my risk of denial.

I turned 18 May 26th, and was afraid of credit cards and credit scores. Though thanks to your videos I applied for my first credit card on May 31st after binge watching your channel, I decided to apply for the Chase Freedom Unlimited and got instantly approved for a $1, 500 credit limit. I was surprised with how high my starting limit was, but I think its also thanks to the fact all my W2 Direct Deposits from my job go to my Chase Checking account, so I already have a relationship with Chase. I want to eventually go for a Chase Trifecta, adding on the Flex and Saphire Preferred I think, when do you think I should apply for the Flex and then the Saphire? Thank you!

Thank you for this video Daniel. I'm so new to the credit card world but with the help of your videos, have learned a ton. I applied for my first credit card (with no annual fee and checklisted all your recommendations) but now know to at least call the reconsideration line before giving up. I hope I get approved. thanks.

Something that I wish credit issuers would look at is whether your credit score is trending up or trending down over the past 12 months. I'd be more willing to give a credit card to somebody who is a rising 550, than somebody who is a tanking 630.

maybe i missed it but you didnt mention that with some companies like capital one, if you already applied for a card within a certain time frame then any new applications will automatically be denied. amex does something similar where if you have been denied within the last 30 days you cant apply until that period is over

Is it possible to get approved for cards that you had a previous collection with and disputed the item ?

Thanks for the video. I just got my credit score over 700. I want the Chase Freedom Unlimited, but I'm afraid to apply and get denied XD
I'm almost 40 and began to understand credit about 10 years ago. It was horrible for me I was at 480. I started little by little and now got my credit over 760.

This videos are a must see for every young person. You are doing an amazing job.

BTW got approved for my first Chase Cars today and must of that was thanks to you!
