How to develop your art style

Hey there! I sometimes get questions about how I developed my art style, so I thought I'd make a little vid breaking down the process I used (in a draw with me format). Feel free to entirely disregard these suggestions or tweak as you see fit! This is intended as more of a guide on how to re-examine and perhaps grow our body of work. Additionally, it includes a few thoughts on why I think art style is ultimately unimportant and a terrible Uncle Iroh impression.

It’s enough to just hear your voice, but your art is so thoughtful, expressive and profound! Your perspective reflects this, as well. I am very uncomfortable when people ask me what my style is. I am not very experienced and I never think of doing anything in a particular style. But maybe that’s the difference between the pros and amateurs like myself.

I found my art style and it’s expressionism it’s a movement, and art style it’s been around for years. I disagree with you because there’s much more to art when you have an art style. For example, expressionism is a style that conveys emotion and the ability to express yourself through art. Honestly the reason why I resonate with this style because this is what real art should be and the same with music and that’s how I feel about art and music. Art style is important not the opposite of it because there’s a story and meaning behind your art than just painting straight on a canvas or paper. It needs to have meaning or emotion in it and have a story behind it.
