Thank you for this!! It really helped me out a lot. I really love economics I did switch from Business management to economics, but in math, I'm 50/50 in math. I am proficient in some areas and basic in others I never took calculus before in high school, right now I am doing college applied algebra and I was doing bad at first, but I am getting the hang of it now, but I want to make sure it's enough for studying and majoring in economics.

Thank you so much. I'm currently in my second year of psychology, but I don't like it. I been thinking of changing to economics, I learn basic math in my last years of high school and have economic classes too (now I feel sad bc the professor was really bad), but I have moments were I think I won't be able to do it and that I'm going to waste another year. I have been watching your videos, and now I feel more secure ♥︎
Thanks for this video and sorry for my English

Thank you so much! You really calmed me down. I’ve always enjoyed math but I’m not a mathematical genius. Many times I struggle in understanding certain topics but you showed me that it’s okay. I’m willing to dedicate time to learn the subjects and that is good enough, right? Also, after I get past the math in the economics major it will all be worth it.

Intermediate & advanced microeconomics relies heavily on calc 1 and some calc 3
Econometrics relies heavily on statistics blended in with calculus (nothing to worry about if only you put in the work)
Any other Econ class is theory heavy with less math

Economics is a highly mathematical discipline.

i’m kind of freaking out right now… i’m going into my junior year at Arizona State University where i’m pursuing a BS in Econ and the semester starts in 2 weeks. The first course i’m taking is intermediate microeconomic theory and it’s apparently very calculus heavy. i took the first two years of my undergrad at community college and took Calculus 1 as a prerequisite but if im being honest, i took the easy way out, as i was taking my classes online and was able to cheat through the math using symbolab and and chegg as well as a plethora of other resources. Honestly I have little to no idea what i’m doing calculus wise and have been trying to play catch up this summer as far as teaching myself the basic calc concepts. how screwed am I? is it realistic to assume during these last two weeks going into this semester i can cram enough in to at least get a decent foundation? obviously during the actual semester i will continue to work hard and seek out tutoring but i’m freaking out about this class coming up here… especially with my lack of calc knowledge. i legitimately didn’t absorb anything in the calculus 1 class i took.

I am a PhD in economics professor educated in the UK and USA. First in economics, you need to clearly comprehend major theories, second, you might have some level of mathematical skills when you study Keynesian economics. Third, applying economics theories into real lives is important and required to figure out solutions for social issues and economic policies. Also, when you go for higher degrees, you might decide either microeconomics, macroeconomics, or development economics, or others is suitable for you. I studied Business Economics for an undergraduate program, Development Economics at the University of Sussex in England, and PhD at the University of Sheffield in the UK. Economics can be boring and interesting depending on how your lectures or professors take initiative but usually the economics subject limits their abilities due to its theoretical depths. Anyway, good luck to my Econ students. Any questions regarding economics, you can leave some comments. Good luck again to you all🤞

This vedio calmed down my stress.
I have chosen ba economics. In my college they offer history or maths as complementary subject . I'm NOT a fan of maths. So will i regret if i don't take math..?

I completed my MSc in mathematical economics last year. I would say it was 90% mathematics and 10% economics. Lol

I am currently doing master in economics and my honest answer is absolutely no. I mean you can easily pass the exam but other than that there is nothing you can do its more like buying the certificate. Everyone can learn the basic or the concept but they will alway stuck at beginners level.

My best friend's weakest subject was mathematics yet she took up AB Economics. Now, she's a banker.

She told me that there are a lot of mathematics also in Economics because you need: algebra, statistics and calculus. So, if you really detest mathematics and your planning to take any humanities or liberal arts course, it has to be History, humanities, Journalism and communication arts.

Among the courses under liberal arts and social sciences, Economics has the most mathematics. So if you really detest math, don't take up economics.

My question is can you do a course in Economics without studying maths in A Level?
