Thank y'all for inspiring me to visit Bucharest and Romania recently. What a gem that place is, I fell in love with the country. Much thanks from Texas.

Guys, the building that you referred to as "the ugliest" (the Tehnoimport tower) is actually a modernist architectural jewel from the interwar period that is in a really bad shape due to decay (it will be restored in a few years (the hotel that you stayed in was in a similar shape until last year). The thing with Bucharest is that, architecture-wise, it's only worth visiting for its huge modernist legacy - which you completely missed but I suppose it's not really your thing.

Bucharest used to look really good, used to be called Little Paris but then it was bombed in WW2, mutilated by the commies by demolishing old buildings and replace them with commie flats and we also had a horrible earthquake in 1977 which did a lot of damage.

You're right about travel being a valuable learning experience. Mark Twain said 'don't tell me where you went to school, tell me where you have traveled.'

Greetings from Bulgaria! Romania is a great country. Much more developed and much nicer than Bulgaria in my opinion. But with worse seaside.

You can actually go into the parliament building, there are guided tours. It's very impressive so I definitely recommend it. 😊

When I visited Bucharest just before covid I could get in to the parliament and had a tour. Shame you've missed it, as it's the world’s second-largest administrative building (after the Pentagon).

Loved this video! Bought back SO many memories for me! I explored Romania in autumn of 2019 and loved it! You walked exactly on many of the same street as I!! Did you see Van Gogh cafe by any chance? The artwork and ambience was stunning!! And the cool Carturesti bookstore!! So much fun to see! Cheers from Marg again in Australia!!

Romanian from Brașov here! Nicely done video guys! When you said Emily in Bucharest I burst into laughter because Bucharest is nicknamed "Little Paris" due to it's architecture so when you said that I thought about a cheap Romanian spin-off of that show that should be called like "Emilia în București" Anyways, have fun exploring our brothers in Moldova!

Please visit Iasi next. It is Romania's hidden gem. It's gorgeous and it's a town close to the border with Moldova.

Emily in Bucharest, now that's a spin-off I'd like to see! 😁Somehow I think it would probably face the same backlash as the ''original'' show: ''This show is nothing like the REAL Paris!" 😆
