Olivia and Nathan here! Bucharest & Transylvania Romania blew us away. Learning about the history of Vlad the Impaler and Nicolae Ceaușescu was shocking. We traveled to the mountains in Transylvania to see Peleș Castle and Bran Castle.

I did a weekend trip to Bucharest from Chicago, IL. It was a great way to spend a long weekend. I saw almost everything and highly recommend the city for anyone interested in a lower-cost European capital. The Parliament Building is well worth a tour. The hallways, chandeliers, staircases, rooms, balcony, and height of the ceilings are all so impressive. You can drive a huge semi through the hallway and not touch the walls or ceiling! One interesting fact: Everything used to build the Parliament is sourced from inside Romania.

Currently in Brasov for a few weeks. This is our second time here. My wife's family has a flat about a 10 minute walk from the city center. I absolutely love it here. We plan to retire here part time in a few years.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed your time in our beautiful country. Fun fact: yes, Bucharest still has some French feel to it in the central parts, and Transylvania has a lot of German feel. If you'd have crossed the Carpathians east and get to the region of Moldova, especially Bukovina, you'd find a Ukrainian and Russian feel to the cities there (e.g. Piatra Neamt, Suceava, even Iasi somewhat), if you go to Craiova you'll get a feel more like Bulgaria, and in Timisoara and Oradea there's a certain something to remind you of Austria and Hungary. ☺

3:50 The name "Tepeș" (Impaler) is translated from ”țeapă” which means spike.

Loved the video! Something I don't really see getting talked about in most tours is the Danube Delta tho. I agree that it's not the main attraction but it can be quite a breath of fresh air from the crowds. If you're planning on visiting Romania again, I definitely recommend visiting the Danube Delta! The Delta is divided into three branches that you can only traverse with a boat. It's beautiful! And of course I recommend visiting Sulina

A beautiful video, a well-researched and in-depth docu. Greetings from Cluj-Napoca (the biggest city from Transylvania). Good luck in your next countries.

Actually, Dracula's castle is in Bucharest, in the Old Town, and its name is Curtea Veche. However, it is in ruins, with only the 500-year-old church of the castle being renovated and appearing as new.

Great video and always love that you guys get/share the history too. I had no idea about the vibe there either but makes it definitely worth a visit. Safe & fun travels 😊
