In this video I show you how to grow Jacaranda trees (Jacaranda mimosifolia) from seed. I use 2 different methods to assist germination and show you which was the most effective.

I saw a picture of a Jacaranda online and it blew me away, so I have got myself some seeds and can't wait to get started on my journey.

I got a Jacaranda seed pod that had fallen from a tree on a Historic Estate here in Nowra NSW. It was planted well over 150 years ago from seeds, from another Jacaranda tree on a historic property built by David Berry, in Berry, NSW.

Im going to do the 24 hr soak method then plant them in a tray like yours. Once big enough, I will plant two on my footpath and two in the bottom corners of my backyard.
-No where near the house - as I have seen the absolute destruction these trees can do to houses, walls, and plumbing. But in an open space or in a large backyard, it is absolutely beautiful. 💜

I just had someone send me some seed pods from trees in their California yard to Florida so I'm going to try both methods. You should totally do an updated video, its been a couple months since you made this video, would love to see how much if they've grown!

Hey I’m using the paper towel method for this. Do w it okay to keep outodoors. Read somewhere to keep them in light. Or somewhere warm

What a legend 👏 I love this tree ❤ ive got myself a seed pod attched to a soft wood cutting and the pod is still green. Any advice or ideas?

so if you'd opened the paper towel seeds a bit earlier the roots would be shorter and easier to get into the trays? any advantage/disadvantage to that?

I bought some seeds and the instructions said to plant the seeds on top of the soil and then to let them germinate with lots of light. Everywhere i look i see different methods. its been almost 3 weeks and nothing yet. I havent given up on them but I have some spare seeds, so imma try a different methode

About the ones in the towel. I heard you say something like "i put it on top of my cabin" is it better to put them in a spot with lots of light of better in the dark?

I have two jacaranda trees I grew from seeds in a pot. They each are about 12 inches tall. They look extremely healthy. Can I keep these trees potted and will they stay relatively small? Thank you. Nice video.

they are container grown as well which makes it better when you live somewhere that has cold winters like here in Kentucky. what soil are you using? and did you use a heat mat? I have indoor grow lights which my plants love in winter.
