The Jacaranda Bonsai Blue from Monrovia grows to be about 10 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide. It takes full sun and is somewhat drought tolerant. Since it's a dwarf tree, and doesn't grow to the full size of a normal Jacaranda Mimosifolia it makes for a great accent. #plantTalk #gardenTalk

We moved to a new home with a tiny backyard. I’ve been searching and searching and found this beauty. We have always wanted a Jacaranda but never had the yard for it. Our local Nursery had one in stock and they put it on hold for me. I feel young again having this small work of art in my backyard.
I just hope I don’t mess anything up.

I live in coastal Southern California and planted two of these dwarfs about 7 years ago. They didn't grow much the first two years. But now they do. They are super lush and beautiful. I do a pretty major prune every other winter. In the spring, they go crazy with new growth. One of mine sends branches out from below the graft. Those head straight for the sky, so I have to cut all those off. I need another one so hopefully my local nursery still sells them.

These are usually sold to prune as bonsi. Remive fast growth and prune accordingly

I have this one. Just planted it a month ago in Northern California in the ground. Watered every day for 1 hour for the first week, now doing twice a week watering for 1 hour each time. I go out every Tuesday with measuring tape. It has not grown an inch yet but I know I must be patient. Haha. Any tips appreciated.

I planted one of these in a courtyard in Houston, Texas (the dwarf variety) and it actually has grown taller than the 1 story house -- so maybe 15 - 20 ft. Be careful where you plant it can get tall.

I purchased a bonsai jacaranda. It’s in a pot full sun. I live in Auburn California. It’s dried out and loosing leaves. So sad so confused. I see a tree watered 1 hour a day for first week? Maybe not enough water? Any comments? Help?
