The Queen Slime-Mount is actually pretty good. It can even help you dodge the Moon Lord‘s laser better than some movement accessories if you time it right.

Honestly.. slime mount and blessed apple is the only mount i use. Prehardmode being the slime mount, and the blessed apple for hardmode fights etc

I used queen slime mount over king slime just to prevent fall damage that still exists for some reason even if you have wings
The extra fall speed was really handy for daytime empress

The way I see mounts is this, when you're willing to throw away all conventional/convenient movement for ludicrous amounts of damage. TLDR, when you're pissed.

4:09, it also has fast falling speed and Goomba stomp, like king slime's drop, and it negate fall +, it has an underrated hover function.

The one, single problem for me that deters me from using mounts is the lack of a dash. A lot of mounts have absurd top speeds, great movement options, and insane damage, but that's all thrown out the window when they take five seconds to reverse direction and in that time I've been hit with a barrage of attacks that could have been avoided by a quick dash to juke them.

Fun fact: if you're using the queen slime mount, the only movement accessory you will ever need is a dash accessory, just un mount, dash, and power on

Appreciate the shout out towards mounts that help you "dash downward", those kind of things are life savers especially during EoL and even daytime! basically carries the fight

6:43 - Theses 2 mounts doesn't get their damage boosted with summoner or ranger armor, but using acessories and armor that increase the crit chance will affect on the mount
as well.

I tested with mounts that does contact damage, and it doesn't cause crit.

3:26 ironically, the best defensive items are the movement accessories you just ditched. The best way to mitigate damage is not getting hit in the first place, and the fast acceleration of the wings and a dash is miles better than the more steady movement of mounts in that regard. Especially for something like master mode

8:00 the queen slime mount also has that same falling speed, coupled with the other advantages of the queen slime mount.
There's also this weird possible glitchy behavior where activating it while ascending with your wings (IIRC) causes you to gain absurd upwards speed
