I have not been able to find out what TV show this performance is from, or the broadcast date, but I have found a claim that it is from 1969 and is from NRK, the Norwegian government-owned radio and television public broadcasting company.

That was the best-quality upload of this performance I could find online. As it is a mimed performance to the single, I have replaced the audio track with a high-quality one of the single, and this involved slowing down the footage slightly, as it was running a bit fast compared to the HQ audio track I am using. The source video was also very out of sync, with the picture running very late compared to the sound, so I have fixed that. I have also cropped the edges of the picture, just enough to clean them up. I have also adjusted the colours, increasing the difference between the light and dark areas. I have also faded in the beginning of the clip from black and faded out the end of the clip to black. I have also added optional subtitles for the lyrics. I have also upscaled the resolution from 720p to 1080p, as this increases the bitrate, which slightly improves picture quality at all the different viewing settings the viewer can select, but please be aware that playing the video at the 1080p setting is not going to make it look as good as a true 1080p video.

This performance is the only mimed performance of the song I could find. The other performances were live, although there are videos online which use their footage and redub their audio track with the original studio-recorded track you are hearing here.

The reference to "1967" in my video title is referring to the release date of the track you are listening to. By 1969 the band had actually changed their name to the Rascals, but at the time they released the single, they were called the Young Rascals, so that is why I have referred to them as such in the video title.

This song was written by Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati, and this track was produced by the Young Rascals. The lead vocals are by Felix Cavaliere. At this time, the band consisted of Felix Cavaliere (vocals, keyboards), Eddie Brigati (vocals, percussion), Gene Cornish (guitar, vocals, bass, harmonica, percussion) and Dino Danelli (drums, percussion). According to Wikipedia, this single went to No. 1 in their native U.S.A. and in Canada, and reached No. 3 in Australia, No. 8 in the U.K., No. 10 in South Africa, and No. 13 in New Zealand.

I have not been able to find an official presentation of the lyrics to this song. Presented below and as optional subtitles in the video is my own transcript of the lyrics, for which I have used the transcripts found on lyrics websites as a guide.

Lyrics:

"Groovin'"

- The Young Rascals

(Words and Music by Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati)

Groovin'
On a Sunday afternoon
Really
Couldn't get away too soon
I can't imagine anything that's better
The world is ours whenever we're together
There ain't a place I'd like to be instead of

Movin'
Down a crowded avenue
Doin'
Anything we like to do
There's always lots of things that we can see
We can be anyone we like to be
And all those happy people we could meet, just

Groovin'
On a Sunday afternoon
Really
Couldn't get away too soon
No, no, no, no

Ah-ha-ha
Ah-ha-ha
Ah-ha-ha

We'll keep on spending sunny days this way
We're gonna talk and laugh our time away
I feel it coming closer day by day
Life would be ecstasy
You and me endlessly

Groovin'
On a Sunday afternoon
Really
Couldn't get away too soon
No, no, no, no
Groovin'
Uh huh, uh huh
Groovin'
