Algebra 1 Lesson #38 How to Factor a Four-Term Polynomial Using Grouping

In this lesson, we will learn how to factor a four-term polynomial using the grouping method. For this method, we will first pull out any GCF that is not 1. Then, we will arrange our four-term polynomial into two groups of two terms each. From there, we will pull the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) from each group. Our goal is to achieve a common binomial factor. If we obtain this, we can factor the common binomial out and report our answer. If we fail, we can try a different grouping.
