The Logitech MX Master series has long been touted the best productivity mouse in the market and comes with silent clicks. But it is not the best productivity mouse. That is because Logitech makes a better one.

I don't see why you can't be productive with a gaming mouse. If you want to be able to do both Gaming and Productivity check out my video on the G502X instead.

Honestly if they threw a Hero sensor and Lightspeed on this and smoothed out the curve on the bottom end they'd hit a demographic they didn't know they needed.

I love that it is possible to connect both MX Keys Mini and MX Master 3S into the same receiver. Infinite scroll is also a blessing. When you have to scroll through a lot of documents or longer text files it makes the job done. I really love how it seamlessly changes the mode of scrolling to infinite to step-by-step one. I couldn't find any other company which made the scroll so good as here. I really have a big problem with this mouse though. Polling rate of this mouse is only 125Hz (Both bluetooth and via receiver). It is especially noticaeable on high refresh rate monitors. You can see small stutters of the cursor and thus it makes the mouse less precise (I assume that in Logitech's point of view productivity environment doesn't need a precise mouse???). This is really a deal breaker for me. If you want to combine gaming and productivity, it is not possible. While you can play games with this mouse it's far from comfortable experience. Next thing which I find terrible is lack of profile memory. You need to have application turned on in order to modify the settings of the mouse. Even DPI settings! Mouse just goes back to default without the application. It's absurd! It completely misses the point of this seamless experience between different devices if you have to install the app in order to set it up. If you want to use it on your work computer you have to either: beg your IT department to install this software or stick to default config.

I really want to love this mouse as I fell in love with the way how the scroll works but the sensitivity and polling rate completely destroys the experience. The problem here is that I couldn't find any company which could create better mice with the same (or closely similar) scroll technology (there's Razer Basilisk V3 Pro, which of course have infinite scroll and SmartReel function but the scroll doesn't behave in the same manner as with 3S) so I'm stuck in the state of unsatisfaction as there's no other mouse which could fit my workflow. 😪

I got the MX Master 2S before the 3S was released, and while I loved the shape and battery life, I had a lot of issues with the software which would crash, eat up CPU and RAM or forget my config. You'd think I should just not install the software, but the horizontal wheel is reversed by default and you need the software to flip it. I also found games would sometimes not detect my middle mouse button, and the horizontal wheel was not responsive at all in half the software I wanted to use it in. And yet, after saying all of that, it was still the best mouse I ever had. Then it broke after a year.

The mouse was simply not build to endure heavy use of its gesture button, which I found myself relying on quite a lot as I had bound it to tab switching, and the motherboard straight up cracked under the repeated strain.

I still decided to give the 3S a try and found I had much of the same software issues, and on top of that the silent buttons offer way less feedback than the 2S, making it horrible for drawing or playing rhythm games. But everything else, I will admit, was an improvement. The mouse feels more robust and still has amazing battery life, and it likely will stay my travel mouse even as I replace it for gaming.

Really unfortunate that nobody makes a good gaming mouse that also looks good like this one. Don’t really want to have to settle for the typical stupid-looking “gaming” mouse

I love the make of the mouse and the scroll wheel on the side, but now I know it probably wouldn't be great for when I'm playing Apex because of the low pulling rate, thanks!

Not gonna lie - I use this mouse for gaming and I think it is amazing.

Logitech needs a gaming mouse with a large body like this. I got the 502x which is touted as being for large hands and it’s tiny.

the corsair Dark Core mouse is the closest to the master that you can get while still being able to game on it. if only the dark core had hyper speed scroll plus side wheel.
but the corsair mouse is still great and I highly recommend.
I did have to add grip tape, sugru to the pinky tray, and sand down the palm when the paint wore off, but considering how much I beat the mouse, it's doing a really good job. extremely comfy too. gets about 30 hours on a charge with power save mode turned on. has hardware profiles switchable on the mouse itself.

I think what you don't understand is anybody who loves the MX Master series for its ergonomics will want their gaming mouse to be similarly ergonomic, so your suggestion to go with Logitech's other gaming mice isn't the most sound.

I personally use the MX Master 3S and have been using a Corsair Dark Core since 2018, and they're a much more apt duo. Though I still prefer the MX Master slightly for looks and ergo, the polling rate really gets noticeable when playing games where you aim with high refresh-rates. The quiet buttons are a major, major plus though! So I am modding my Dark Core with some Kailh Mute switches soon and it'll be the best of both worlds.

Sad that this genius Mouse has only 125 Hz....
Is there any Gaming Mouse with a Silent click linke the 3s?

At 2:50, you discuss a stuttering issue with this mouse. Just to clarify, are you comparing the stuttering with the mx 3 or with a standard 125hz mouse?

I have just bought this mouse and am finding it to be noticeably more jittery than my previous 125hz gaming mouse and my 125hz $5 wired mouse. It makes fps games unplayable.

I’m not sure defect with my own model or if it’s a problem with this mouse.

I use the Mx Anywhere 3S for gaming. Granted, I only play singleplayer games, but it's good enough for me. It's small, not game-y, and it fits the more adult oriented "setup" I have. I also got the Mx Keys S keyboard. I am in no way heavily into productivity, but I'm tired of gaming peripherals being cheap and in the core of it, pure garbage.

Funny that you don't tell that this mouse have a really big issues with the main scroll. That's kill the mouse for productivity.
Is a waste of money you buy a mouse with "infinite scrolling" that you can't do precision fast scrolling.
