Hi everyone!

I figured it was about time that I updated my video on how to dodge and burn in Photoshop! (And a general skin retouching tutorial.)
The last main video on dodging and burning I filmed was now nearly 4 years ago, so I wanted to do an updated video with a few more tips and tricks. I also feel that my skin retouching routine in Photoshop has shifted a little, so I wanted to focus on that a bit too.

Let me know if you want to see more beauty retouching tutorials! 😊

Thanks for this. I bought your Domestika course and it taught me a lot and this a really good update. I’m so glad that the trend is moving toward more gentle retouching.

Wow you explained it way better than retouching academy free training. I'm new to dodge and burn and as a videographer I completely understand
the highlight and shadow blending techniques after watching this tutorial.
thank you very much. 🙏🏽

Kayleigh, this is a brilliantly simple dodge and burn technique. I’m going to move to this for my landscape work. I think it will be much more natural than HDR.

Beautiful!!! the best way to retouch skin, i prefer this by far over frequency separation. I started retouching your technique after watching some of your older videos. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Thank you so much for really helpful video 🥰💖 could you give some tips how to edit skin with a lot of acne and orange peel like skin pores, how to do it in non destructive way? Is there any way to recreate or create a new skin texture? 🤔
Thank you in advance, your content is amazing 🤍

wow! this was thank you. I'm going to watch more of your videos. I would LOVE some tips for lighting shots on location. No studio, so how to set up 1 or 2 lights for a man's shot! Thank you!

Hello, great video. May I ask you, how you decide how far you drag up or down the curve for either the dodge or burn layer. Many thanks

Great tutorial, narrated at a pace that is easy to absorb - is there an erase brush to restore areas that maybe have been taken too far?

Thank you so much for making these — lol I did not know how to do this. You’re the best - again thanks

Thank you for sharing your techniques. It's interesting and useful. Have you tried doing any of this in Capture One? There are dodging and burning tools there too. Do you find those to be less precise?
