Vida Linux was a great early OS Vlos as it was affectionately called offered a clean and friendly graphical loader and a clean useful desktop. You ported hardened or developed your os after getting into a work friendly environment. It lessened the lesson curve of gentoo and introduced people to the options of Linux. Your new to Linux but hate all the preinstalled bloat vlos had your back. It was from Puerto Rico but was available in English. Today there is a vidalinux site but it seems to have security certificate issues. The disk in this video could be the last copy since auction sites and hours upon hours of disappointing searches have no valid links. Vintage os’s are great for old computers and can be tweaked to run on modern protocols. I have a drive I dropped with mechanical issues containing 1000’s of odd and missing os’s but I’m not able to recover mechanical drive failure. Finding this disk in old junk was a big deal! I hope to base a modern flavor of Linux off the vintage VLOS install disk. I also hope to find a place to share the original ISO.
Feel free to comment I hope it’s a likable video. I will follow up with some kind of booting video into the live environment.
