You should replace the corkscrew with an all purpose hook from Victorinox. That way you still have a way of undoing tough knots. Or a finger nail file would work too.

For me it would be great if SOG would just up their quality a bit (better steel, tolerances) otherwise for the money it's a fantastic multitool. Would make a great modding platform maybe some SAK elements? Scissors, file, different blade the pliers head just plain works, you can also use it to hold jigsaw blades (a bit of tape or heat shrink over the end of the blade and the bit driver will grip), you can also slip a blade beside the pliers a handle to get a good grip.
My solution to the "obsolete" corkscrew is to heat it up, straighten it and turn it into a traveller hook/bent pick even more useful as a pick, scribe, hook, latch opener.
Haven't worked out what to do with the other part of the corkscrew the "cam", maybe cut a v notch and use as a nail puller?
Absolutely asounds me why SOG would not have included the handle lock into the PowerPint

I just don’t know that many people that encounter corked wine bottles while out and about. Most of the time you will be in a restaurant/kitchen and if you’re planning a picnic just bring a dedicated corkscrew. I really wish multitool companies would stop using them this much. (Looking at you, Victorinox)

just a heads up, the aliexpress ones are factory seconds. Most of what I've heard is that the pliers don't meet well, have play etc but clearly you got lucky that it was just cosmetic damage to the plier. Still a great option, but something to be aware of

On the PowerPint what I do is I use a velcro strap that's normally used for like wires or whatnot and I wrap it around it to hold a bit in place or I sound say behold the handles closed once the bit is in place.. cost me $0.25😂

STOP! Before you take apart that tool we want to see you open a bottle of wine with it, because you missed one half of the wine opener function.

Great little tool & convenient to carry. With ours we cut a little bit off the corkscrew to insert a SAK tinder & ferro rod. Slightly sharpen the end of the corkscrew so we can still use it to untie knots. We've seen one with an alluminium tube that holds a ferro rod or pen. Nifty little tool for outdoors activities. Cheers mate.

6:39 I have the same calipers in white and think the same thing "I should have gotten the digital calipers". The battery keeps draining after a few months so I went with the plastic one. Maybe dial calipers are easier to use and rely on...

This is exactly what I have been looking for long distance hiking/cycling. 33EUR (VAT included) is just amazing.

1. As lightweight as possible
2. Pliers
3. Scissors
4. Knife
5. Corkscrew! - much more useful to me than serrated blade, file etc.

6. Bit holder was not a must, could be usefeul though - especially with bicycle hex bits
7. Strap cutter - I have it on my heavy Leatherman OHT - so useful!

PowerPint is garbage the tools are weak and the scissors can't cut anything the only good things are the bit driver and the size . I know I might be coming off harsh I'm sorry I'm just tired of the power pint love and I have one . Great video . Edit: that little latch also solves the problem of the power pint flailing open after a few weeks of use keeps it locked in place .

Just wanted to add that they don't regard AliExpress as an registered reseller, so wouldn't count on the warranty. Spoke to support a little while ago

There is some jimping on the handle lock, use your thumbnail to roll it out from the end.

There's no good reason that SOG couldn't have made a minor change to the powerpint frame to incorporate a latch. I thought that I was the only person having problems keeping the tool reliably closed while using the bit driver. My work around is to put a small ranger band on the tool. Otherwise I could not love my powerpint more

You should just tack weld a four mm driver in the place of the corkscrew. Would make this the ultimate little multi-tool.

That is definitely an ingenious design.
I like the fact that you can have a bit driver capability that's not one if the implements, because if you don't want it you're not dealing with extra bulk or loosing another implement...ect.

I don't want a a bit driver on my multitool, but I would not pass on a leatherman model that I otherwise wanted if it had a bit driver design like this.

I've personally never seen a purpose in the corkscrew on multitools unless maybe you drink alot of wine or something. I never purchase stuff with them. And this one you're speaking about the corkscrew looks like it's in such a uncomfortable position for gripping the tool.

I ended up ordering the Powerpint from the link. I was able to message the seller and they said that they look at each one and send back the bad ones. Mostly cosmetic defects or close to perfect are the ones they sell, so I ordered it. I will scratch mine up anyways, so thanks for saving me money. I can't wait to try out a mid sized multitool. 😀

Can you make a video of it opening wine before you cut off the corkscrew?
